As a part of Solvay’s Special Chem Global Business Unit (GBU), the Cincinnati Site produces world-class materials for the automotive industry. Products manufactured at the plant help reduce the automobile’s weight, increase fuel efficiency, and decrease emissions.

Job Overview and Responsibilities:

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

·  Preforms a wide variety of duties as required in the maintenance, repair and installation of plant equipment and buildings in a chemical manufacturing plant. 
·  Expected to diagnose problems, plan and perform necessary repairs with minimum supervision.
·  Work closely with engineering and operations to improve reliability plant wide
·  Responsible for maintaining safety culture to produce an accident free through established safety programs and practices.
·  Preforms work order repairs, inspections and adjustments as scheduled.
·  Safe use of power and hand tools.
·  PLC knowledge – installation, programming, and trouble-shooting
·  Background in digital control systems, including field termination, analog/digital signal trouble-shooting, 
·  Installation and programming of Variable Frequency Drives
·  Wiring of motors and HP load controllers, for 120VAC and 480VAC
·  Calibration and trouble-shooting of dp transmitters, flow meters, pressure transmitters, temperature transmitters, level transmitters, etc.
·  Installation and testing of pressure switches, temperature switches
·  Knowledge of grounding systems and power grids
·  Interlock testing and setup
·  Instrument to Pneumatic signal conversion 
·  Potential for loop tuning, but not mandatory

Education and Experience:

•High School Diploma or equivalent required; ISA certification is desirable.

·  7-10 years of maintenance experience with a thorough knowledge of instrumentation and electrical installation, trouble-shooting, and diagnostics.
·  Broad range of experience in electrical controls, PLCs, variable frequency drives, electrical distribution, etc.
·  Experience with instrumentation for slurry, abrasive applications and dry powder transfer a plus. Qualification will be verified via testing and evaluation.

Skills:

·  PLC knowledge – installation, programming, and trouble-shooting
·  Background in digital control systems, including field termination, analog/digital signal trouble-shooting.

Additional Information

Starting pay for this position is $30.27 with increase reviews based on skills and experience up to  $36.51.  
This is a union negotiated position.
