Job Overview and Responsibilities:

Provide analytical and quality work for the purpose of maintaining day to day operation of the PH3 Gases facilities
Requires handing of pyrophoric, toxic and extremely hazardous chemicals in high pressure cylinders
Ability to accurately follow stringent safety guidelines and exercise extreme caution in the performance of all job duties due to the hazardous nature of the products
Directly involved with the analysis and qualification of Cypure and Cypure Ultra Phosphine, Cytop-1, Vaporph3os and Eco2fume
Ensure that work is being performed while meeting all of the Company’s Safety and Environmental protection standards
Perform daily analysis of the Cypure process and cylinders as required (Instrumentation includes GC-TCD, GC-PDHID, Cavity Ringdown Moisture analyzer, ICP and GC-ICP-MS)
Inputs data into various databases as required
Involvement in maintenance decision making (ie. Helping with coordination of the annual maintenance shutdown, determining any work to be done in the gases lab during this time)
Assist in process development and experimental development to improve the process including commissioning of new analytical equipment.
Assist with writing and updating the analytical procedures for all Gases products
Recommends the purchase of supplies to maintain analytical instruments
Interfaces with suppliers of laboratory instrumentation when required (ie. Valco Instruments)
Maintains laboratory instrumentation and equipment
Attends periodic meetings with production (Gases Team Members) and marketing (Sales, CCIR investigations)
Attends training courses as required
Attends regular safety meetings
Gases technician must be able to meet the demands and challenges of a constantly evolving process
Good analytical techniques are required for this high purity product.  Development of these techniques and training of new gases technicians to follow them is also a requirement
Assist in developing of analytical techniques and the use of statistical quality control to guarantee accurate data for use in quality, production, sales, customer and six sigma projects

Education and Experience:

Bachelors of Science degree in related field (Chemistry, Biology, etc.)

Must have excellent analytical skills
Excellent communication skills and detail oriented
Ability to manage multiple priorities
Requires regular, dependable attendance
