Job Overview and Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will perform routine maintenance work according to standard methods and procedures.Non-routine maintenance work will be performed with varying degrees of supervision, dependent upon task.The position routinely requires work from written instructions, specifications, prints, drawings, and samples.

The position requires responsibility for company tools, equipment, and materials, and return of those items when work is completed.Work areas must be kept clean and in order.

The position requires handling and operation of a wide variety of manufacturing plant equipment, both typical plant auxiliary equipment and specialized production machinery.The candidate must be able to evaluate and report unusual situations to supervision.

Like all Electricians, the candidate must be willing and able to provide on-call (off-shift) support for plant operations, as requested / needed.The candidate must also be willing to work second (3-11) or third (11-7) shifts during/after a probationary / training period.

Education and Experience:

Business/ Technical Skills & Experiences (Must Have)

Technical skills as described are mandatory.

The candidate must have a Journeyman License with positive attitude toward safety, and must be willing to work according to strict safety-based procedures.

Business/ Technical Skills & Experiences (Preferred)

Master Electrician License holder with knowledge of controllers / control systems, PLC's, high voltage 3 phase electrical operation is preferred.

Minimum (3) years working experience on industrial electrical systems.

Advanced certification or license in a skilled trades area.

Education (Preferred)

Associates Degree, applicable trade school certification, or honorable military discharge.

Skills:

The candidate must have a strong mechanical and electrical aptitude, leading to successful troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of plant equipment with minimal additional training / exposure.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

The candidate must be able to add, subtract, multiply, divide and convert in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, as well as compute rate, ratio, and percent.Ability to draw and interpret graphs is also required.

REASONING ABILITY

The ability to understand and carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form is essential.The candidate must be able to deal with problems involving several variables.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the candidate will frequently and routinely be required to stand, kneel, walk, stoop, climb, crouch, push, pull, carry, and utilize ladders and stairs.There are frequent requirements to use hands and arms to touch or feel objects, and to use tools.Lifting requirements are 60 lbs. on a regular basis, up to 70 lbs. occasionally, and higher amounts using power or assist devices.The job requires good close vision, and the ability to accurately distinguish shapes / anomalies.
