Responsibilities

Description of the Business Line or Department

Société Générale Securities Services (SGSS) has been active in Ireland for 20 years and is a leading player in servicing Irish domiciled and offshore collective investment vehicles. We act locally as fund administrator and depositary for a wide range of international clients who manage schemes from UCITS to AIFs including private equity and real estate structures, hedge funds and special purpose vehicles.

Summary of the key purposes of the role

Reporting to the Head of Compliance with a dotted line to the head of Second level control (in Paris), the Second level Control Compliance Officer is responsible for the workplan of second level controls for Compliance domains in order to assess independently the LoD1 control framework implemented by the Business Units. As the candidate progresses they will have the opportunity to become involved in more tasks and further develop their knowledge and experience.

Summary of responsibilities

Under the supervision of the Head of Compliance, covering the Irish perimeter for the Depositary/Trustee activities and for the Fund Administration activities (the “Business Units”), the Second Level Control Compliance Officer has for main duties:

1) To perform the workplan of second level controls for Compliance domains in order to:

- Assess independently the first-level of control framework implemented by the Business Units;

- Prevent compliance and operational risks to occur;

- Ensure that the entities operate in compliance with the regulations which apply to the Group and to that extent

2) Perform second level control missions by an assessment of first level of controls framework:

- Through their design and their results (including the Testing part as described in the methodological guide);

- By performing architectural reviews, aiming to reduce the related business risks as regards the SG Directives, Instructions and Procedures;

3) Identify areas for improvement in order to strengthen and ensure compliance if need be of the first level control set up in the Business Units.

- These areas for improvement will lead to action plans, that will be formally monitored, and their status will be regularly reported to the Head of Compliance and to the Head of Second Level control in Paris.

4) Participate to the presentation of results of second level controls that are made to the controlled Business units;

5) Contribute to the deliverables (notably reporting) to be transmitted to the management bodies of the Business units in terms of results of second level controls reviews.

Profile Required

Competencies

- Four- or five-years high education with a significant experience in compliance, risk, audit and / or controls

- Strong knowledge of banking and financial environment (business skills, operational risks, controls)

- Banking experience in terms of operational risks and controls management

- Good knowledge of SG Group's procedures is preferable

- Capacity to analyze situations and operations, to synthetize

- Fluent English

- Good interpersonal skills and ability to work with multicultural teams

WORK EXPERIENCE

· 1-2 years' experience in a similar role, or in a related field.

EDUCATION

Minimum bachelor's degree required.

LANGUAGES

· Fluent English is essential; knowledge of French language is an advantage.
