Responsibilities
Description of the Business Line or Department
Prime Services is the clearing, financing and execution offering of Societe Generale, which services clients across multiple asset
classes and products including listed derivatives, fixed income, equities, swaps, FX and OTC.
Prime Services Risk is the first line of defence for all business units including assets financing, execution and prime brokerage
clearing. The team is responsible to follow the counterparty risk that Prime Services activities generate and ensure that these risks
are well controlled and reported internally to other risk functions and management. The risk is managed on pre-trade level,
real-time and end-of-day basis for all clients and across metrics utilised the main ones include VaR, greeks and stress tests.
The team also is responsible to maintain and assist clients with understanding the margin methodologies that are utilised as well
as develop new ones. The team has responsibility to ensure that the model utilised to calculate risk for all clients under
the business line is operating accurately and improve it as required based on new products or asset classes.
Summary of the key purposes of the role

Assisting analysts on basic portfolio analysis and running simulations for new prospective clients
·
Helping the team with ad-hoc analysis, risk reporting, risk projects and other admin tasks
·
Maintenance and testing of the intraday risk monitoring platform
·
Assist the team with automating existing processes or establishing new processes through the available tools under the guidance of senior members
·
Maintain and improve the existing reporting and processes as well as suggest potential improvements
·
Assist with Python implementation and automation under the guidance of senior members of the team
·
Perform various tasks and checks regarding data quality of the risk inputs into the model
·
Design new reporting dashboards under the guidance of senior members of the team
·
Assist with back testing of various methodologies utilized by the team and perform pricing benchmark monitoring under the guidance of senior members.
Summary of responsibilities

Understanding of risk concepts and methodologies (VaR/greeks/stress tests)

Knowledge of Listed derivatives, Equities, FX, Fixed Income
Work experience
Previous placements in risk management or the financial industry preferred
Working knowledge of Python strongly preferred
Education
Master's degree in Finance, Economics or a related field
Languages
Fluency in English required
