Your master thesis will research the transient powder flow behavior for Laser Metal Deposition applications (LMD/DED).
The additive manufacturing system with its components will be investigated regarding their influences.
To do so, you use CFD software and different powder flow models (Euler-Lagrange, DEM).
Additionally, powder properties are examined, and prediction models are established by you - potentially with AI/Machine Learning approaches.
Validating experiments conclusively round off your thesis.
What you need to make real what matters.
You have a successful Bachelor's degree and y ou are enrolled in a technical or scientific course of study, e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Physics etc.
You have some experience in working with CFD software, most preferably STAR-CCM+.
Knowledge in additive manufacturing, powder-based processes and CNC usage are a plus.
You are interested in research and scientific work while convincing us through your methodical, reliable and independent way of working.
Very good written and oral English skills are required, German skills would be an asset.
