Siemens Mobility is hiring a Test Engineer to support all testing activities and all testing infrastructure, including designing, planning, retrofitting and implementing test protocols/systems per product design to ensure compliance with design specifications and established testing standards. We are responsible for ensuring product quality while maintaining a safe work environment and improving the testing efficiencies. We work with supervisors or other specialists to resolve any testing issues as well as training and mentoring of other testers. We are looking for someone to demonstrate and apply a broad knowledge of Testing principles, standards, and engineering concepts with two years or more experience in a related field. Responsibilities:

·  Read and interpret schematic/mechanical drawings, diagrams, blueprints, specifications, work orders, bills of materials, or reports to determine materials and test requirements, to estimate the scope of the test, selects and defines the measuring and tests equipment or devices required.
·  Design and test the sequence of test programs, create test instructions, including documenting the entire testing process.
·  Introduce and implement diagnostic measures in the event of deviations and assess the results.
·  Coordinate the processing of testing sequences, analyze and evaluate test results to ensure that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements per test procedure and discuss testing results with customers.
·  Analyze the test sequences for potential improvements and carry out or initiate the required implementation measures.
·  Ensure and participate in the systematic further development of the quality assurance system.
·  Maintain the testing documentation and testing manuals.
·  Schedule, organize and monitor the creation of test solutions.

Knowledge and Experience:

Some of the proficiencies that are required to be successful in the role of Test Engineer are as follows, but not limited to the following:

Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) - Knowledge of environmental health and safety regulations and procedures, such as LOTO, Electrical Hazards.

Product - Knowledge of product, workmanship standards, and test procedures.

Computers - Good knowledge of computer software applications.

Testing and Processing - Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, test processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective testing of products.

Lean Manufacturing - Knowledge of basic lean principles and techniques for optimizing processes and eliminating waste.

Critical Thinking — Using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches to problem-solving.

Troubleshooting — Determining causes of failures during testing and corrective actions.

Communication - Good writer, speaker, listener and reader to communicate effectively with partners and create documentation as it relates to test.

Education:

Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Computer Science, Electrical or related field.

Tools:

·  Gauges, Scales, Measuring devices
·  Data entry software such as Microsoft Word and Excel
·  DMM, Oscilloscope, Clamp-on current meters
·  Chart recorders, Hi-Pot test machine
·  DAQ - Data Acquisition Tool
·  Diagramming software such as AutoCAD, Microsoft Visio
·  Testing tools such as PLC programming, LabVIEW, C++, Python
