The distributed computing team at Siemens Corporate Technology at Beijing is dedicated to developing future proof technologies to solve emerging challenges across IoT and AI, targeting applications ranging from smart manufacturing to smart city. One of the core competences we are building is edge computing, which enables better utilization of massive IoT resources and helps deliver real time services.
We are now seeking a lead research scientist in the area of edge computing. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and conducting ground-breaking research to address complex issues arising in edge systems for visual perception.
Responsibilities
• Identify critical issues, develop and execute solutions to address business issues
• Lead and conduct research work & produce top rank research publications
• Provide technical leadership
• Collaborate with team on prototype development and project piloting
• Evaluate and recommend tools, technologies and processes to ensure highest product quality
• Engage in internal funding acquisition
Qualifications
• 3+ years research experience in systems/network/storage
• 5+ years experience in software development
• Masters, PhD (preferred) degree in Computer Science
• Experience in developing edge computing systems supporting deep learning and computer vision applications
• Experience in software performance engineering and performance analysis
• Experience in cloud computing systems development
• Proficient written and verbal communication skills in English
