Rail Vehicle Sub Assembly Production Supervisor

Production Supervisor ATM - Rail Car Electro-Mechanical Sub-Assembly:

  Due to strong growth we are searching for an experienced Production Supervisor (Assembly Team Manager / ATM)who  manages multiple assembly groups working on multiple projects in the Sub-Assembly area to meet project requirements for quality, schedule and cost with a total of approximately 50 electrical and mechanical assemblers.

Responsibilities

 • Drive Zero Harm @ Siemens by ensuring a safe and healthy work environment. Ensure all Team Members are trained in, and observe, safe work practices

 • Ensure positive communication with entire team on a regular basis to keep them informed of work status, department performance and process changes

 • Evaluate employees work performance and deliver them to your direct reports to insure continues improvement and development of the team

 • Drive team discipline to meet company policies and act as required 

• Establish, monitor and adjust manpower, including interviewing and hiring new employees and ending assignments as required • Plan production operations, define workflow and establish priorities and production sequences to meet project and interdepartmental requirements.

 • Meet project targets for direct labor hours, schedule and quality • Develop, monitor and meet department budgets and business plans

 • Ensure development and documentation of best practice work standards and ensure all team members are properly trained for their assigned tasks

. • Drive lean manufacturing initiatives to eliminate waste and ensure continues improvement 

• Develop and implement measures to improve production efficiency, equipment performance, and product quality 

• Work with other ATMs to align and assure a smooth hand-over of work and products • Work collaboratively with other department managers and supporting functions (HR, EH&S, IE, Engineering, Supply-Chain, Quality, Maintenance etc. ) to insure coordinated support of all production needs. • Complete other duties and responsibilities as required.

 • Ability to lead drive and motivate a direct labor workforce to meet business targets • Develop relationships: Excellent coach and team builder • Strong analytical, communication and leadership skills • Troubleshoot and resolve complex problems. • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple internal customers.

 Knowledge Education and Experience

 • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience • Experience managing industrial operations

 • At least 3 years experience in OEM capital equipment assembly operations, in a schedule driven, high mix/low volume, engineer-to-order, project environment.  • Proficient in MS Excel and PowerPoint.
