Job Description

Position Overview

This opportunity is a 1st shift position that requires the successful candidate to manage and maintain all aspects of the Material Planning for Steam Turbine (Rotor & Stationary manufacturing areas). Success is dependent upon the ability to use SAP, along with other tools, to effectively manage the systematic day to day needs of the department.
The MRP role is responsible for making sure that the manufacturing process is not interrupted and can run efficiently without unplanned stoppages. Daily system updates, maintenance and planning ensure that the shop has production orders created in a timely fashion, material is dated on time and that system maintenance continues until the order is ready to close. Supports the shop by providing quality SAP information to all support groups that help the manufacturing process run smoothly. Continually looks for ways to improve the current process by learning from other groups and training. With minimal direction, using tools provided by the Shop Planner, ensure that SAP is up to date with the latest information regarding orders, materials and dates to ensure that high quality information is entered into SAP. The incumbent will be the primary contact for all Stationary SAP issues, including but not limited to; order creation, order maintenance, dating, order closure, MM maintenance, BOM maintenance, costing, delivery notes, etc.

Responsibilities

·  Create and maintain Production Orders for all new work.
·  Ensure that information supplied by Shop Planner, Project Manager, and other sources are accurately entered SAP in a timely fashion.
·  Date production orders and materials according to the latest schedule.
·  Work with Advanced Planning to create and maintain PSPG/PSDO orders; including but not limited to Sales Orders, Production Orders, Inbound Delivery's, Rework Orders, Delivery Notes, etc.
·  Monitor and ensure that Gemba boards are updated.
·  Responsible for yearly FICO asset inventory and monthly FICO material inventory.
·  Attend morning Gemba's to support with information regarding orders and material issues/questions.
·  Work with all campus business units to ensure manufacturing is scheduled to meet their need dates.
·  Assist with approving SAP transaction authority.
·  Create, maintain and close out text requisitions used for outside vendors and other purchasing requests.
·  Work with Purchasing group to close out non-material receipts.
·  Maintain system integrity through proper inputs and daily updates.
·  Support OM MRP with various needs, including but not limited to; MM creation, MM maintenance, BOM creation, BOM maintenance, Sales Order maintenance and Delivery Notes.
·  Support Stationary Production Expeditor, as needed, by picking materials in from the warehouse.
·  Troubleshoots issues or problems that arise within SAP due to system or human errors.
·  Work with Manufacturing Supervisor/Lead to support the floor with drawings, materials or other special needs/requests.
·  Monitor and follow QN's to ensure they do not hold up manufacturing processes.
·  Monitor and maintain PSDO material that often arrives outside of system.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·  2+ years' experience working in SAP.
·  Ability to work alone or in a team setting.
·  Experience in promoting and participating in continuous improvement/lean activities that meet operational excellence expectations.
·  Working knowledge of MRP.
·  Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
·  Excellent, demonstrated experience with computers and Microsoft Office software.
·  Must be a team player willing to take on tasks and actions that are outside of normal business requirements.
·  Adept at managing multiple tasks at one time.
