Job Description:

The Production Planner works cross functionally with Supply Chain strategic purchasing, materials planning and inventory control to meet business goals and objectives. They work internally with Supply Chain, Quality, Manufacturing and Test Engineering, as well as our Contract Manufacturers to ensure the correct materials and correct quantities are available as needed for production. They will also work with teams to resolve problems that arise within our CM's as it relates to quality issues or changes inthe overall build plan.

Other duties include:

• Monitor the movement of inventory and make recommendations for improving the planning and procurement processes and procedures to promote inventory turns.

• Work with Doc Control and Contract Manufacturing Operations to ensure the timely incorporation of change orders that affect ordering, scheduling, and inventory levels. This includes being lead on creating Inventory dispositions on change orders and reporting on progress.

• Responsible for supporting month-end and year-end inventory goals are managed, reconciled, and updated into our databases.

• Provide visibility into supplier lead-times, supply availability, and long term forecasting.

• Implement supply strategies to mitigate supply chain risk and ensure continuity of supply.

• Manage the CM's major component suppliers and their respective purchase orders to completion while resolving issues in a timely manner.

• Review open order reports with our contract manufactures to ensure there's alignment andto reconcile any discrepancies

• Manage inventory and material liability to meet Mentor's financial goals. This includes ensuring adequate inventory is maintained by the CM and that all purchasing parameters, MOQ's and material lead times are accurate.

• Work closely with key suppliers to building strong relationships and to drive quarterly performance review metrics.

• Understand Mentors purchasing processes and policies.

Job Qualifications:

• Typically requires BA/BS, technical degree or equivalent
• 5+ years of industry experience in high tech hardware sector
• Experience with use of major ERP/MRP and PDM system such as SAP, Oracle, Agile or Arena
• Experience with supplier management, materials and inventory management
• Strong knowledge of supply chain processes and procedures including manufacturing & materials planning as well as some demand planning processes
• Knowledge of electronic manufacturing services, and manufacturing processes
• Strong analytical and reporting skills
• Advanced Excel skills (formula, lookup, pivot tables, graphing and reporting)
• Excellent written and verbal communication
• Seasoned in developing and maintaining supplier relationships and managing delivery schedules in a technology development environment
• Excellent analytical and organizational skills with an ability to multi-task
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment
