Job Description

Siemens Intelligent Traffic Systems - Smart systems. Smart traffic. Thinking mobility further through adaptable and modular solutions.

We are looking for a Product Support Technician to join our Traffic factory in the sunny Poole. You will be responsible for carrying out test procedures and repair on a variety of electronic and mechanical equipment; working with prototype information to build new products and equipment and assembling electronic/mechanical equipment to production drawings or sketches.

We are looking for someone who is a problem solver and competent in the use of all hand tools and ancillary equipment required to assemble the various types of electronic and mechanical equipment within the manufacturing cell. Experience within electronics manufacturing industry is preferred however full training will be given to the right candidate.

The challenge:

·  Producing information for production control monitors as required
·  Booking items into stock using maps materials database
·  Preparing items for despatch and creating despatch notes
·  Observing appropriate standards of safety and cleanliness in the work place
·  Keeping a log of and report on changes needed to the various forms of assembly documentation as appropriate
·  You may occasionally be required to carry out work on customer's premises
·  Potential requirement to lead or supervise as well as providing guidance within the manufacturing team

What do you need to qualify for the role?

·  Someone with experience within electronics manufacturing industry and qualified to ONC level in a relevant subject (preferred but not essential)
·  Detailed knowledge of production processes and practices are essential, experience in electromechanical production including knowledge of material and process constraints is preferable
·  Experience of a drawing package tool would be an advantage; Microsoft office skills using Windows for Word and Excel; knowledge of a relevant MMS would be beneficial
·  Excellent communication skills and being able to interact at all levels (i.e. customers and suppliers and being able to create written reports)
·  Interpersonal skills and ability to work within the team
