This individual will be part of the team developing the hardware platform for the FPGA prototyping solution at Mentor. He or she will be responsible for working with external compliance test labs (NRTLs) to define compliance test requirements and schedules. Review and understand compliance standards (EU/CE, FCC, CB Schemes). Work with internal hardware and software engineers. Understand schematics and circuit functions. Set up test fixtures and program test scripts. Perform Design Verification Tests. Evaluate reliability requirements and design tests to validate reliability levels. Write test plans and reports.

Bachelor's Degree (related to electrical engineering preferred), with 5 years+ experience in compliance and regulatory
engineering in the electronics space. Experience in defining requirements for product agency marking for worldwide shipment.
Managing multiple projections concurrently. Insuring that all products receive necessary compliance approvals and certifications necessary to get through customs internationally.
Good communication and documentation skills are required to share and communicate work between local and remote members of the team and to external customers and vendors.

The Applicant should be able to demonstrate knowledge of
• Managing multiple deliverables in a limited-guidance environment
• Regulatory approval process (UL, EU/CE, FCC, CB Schemes RoHS, REACH)
• EMC design, test, and mitigations
• Product Safety design, test and mitigations
• Regulatory compliance test equipment experience
• Risk analysis such as FMEA, Product Hazard Analysis, FTA, and other identification methods
• Laser safety
