Job Description:

Position Summary

As a skilled NDE ( Non-Destructive Examination) Quality Engineer . Our NDE Quality Engineer will be based in our office near Pittsburgh and provides quality and engineering support for nondestructive inspection services at power plant sites across the Americas including the United States, Canada, Central and South America.

Responsibilities

·  Overall QA and Certification responsibility for the NDE and Specialty Services Group.
·  Perform site audits for compliance to quality and safety standards.
·  Facilitate Risk Assessments and Root Cause Analyses.
·  Ensure compliance with stipulated processes and scheduled activities.
·  Ensure continuous improvement and the implementation of Lessons Learned.
·  Assist with and/or Lead NDE development projects
·  Qualifiy and Audit suppliers / vendors.
·  Audit internal organization for procedure, safety, and quality compliance.
·  Initiate, lead, and advise management on quality improvement initiatives.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

·  Bachelors degree in Engineeringor equivalent combination of education and experience.
·  8 years of progressive NDE experience .
·  5 years experience as an NDE Level II certification
·  Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs: Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
·  Excellent oral and written communications skills; able to clearly and concisely express information (or data) to non-technical associates, peers, customers and management.
·  Must be Self-Driven and resourceful to achieve goals independently as well as work well in groups.
·  Very strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver the highest quality work in a safe and efficient manner.
·  Flexibility to adjust and thrive in an environment with changing requirements, schedules and priorities for multiple projects or assignments.
·  Demonstrated ability to work within teams - discuss ideas, make recommendations and help to reach team consensus to move forward.
·  Innovative, creative, willing to share and explore new ideas.
·  Must be able to pass extended background check for unescorted access to Nuclear power facilities.
·  Ability/flexibility to travel domestically for customer/internal meetings, conferences, and jobsite audits, up to 15%.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

· 
Prior or current NDE Level III certifications are highly desired and preferred for this position.

· 
General knowledge/experience related to steam and gas power plant components.

· 
Knowledge related to the inspection of turbine and generator components.

· 
Mechanical and/or electrical hands-on skills.

·  Prior experience with Siemens Field Service.
·  Lean or Six Sigma process improvement training/skills.
·  Training and/orCertifications in multiple NDE methods (UT, ET, PT, MT, VT, RT, IR)
·  SAP Experience.
·  In depth knowledge of GLP (Good Laboratory Practice) or ISO/IEC 17025 (preferably formally trained).
·  Knowledge of Risk Management
·  Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control training/experience.
