Mechanical Field Service Engineer

The role of the Field Service Engineer is to principally provide Field Service and Technical Support, as required for the Long Term Service Agreement (LTSA) business, Modification and Upgrades and other ad-hoc customers.

The key responsibilities are to ensure that the contract and associated works are professionally administered on a day-to-day basis. The role will require you to work such reasonable hours that the job my from time to time demand, and will include out of hours standby / call out services.

Person Specification

Key Requirements:

· Understanding of Rotating Equipment operation, in both Gas Compression and Power Generation applications

· Capable of trouble-shooting and rectifying in-field problems on Siemens AGT products in a timely manner

· An awareness and understanding of Seal gas system design and associated fault finding.

· Carry out preventative and corrective maintenance tasks

· Carry out Installation & Commissioning activities on Siemens AGT Power Generation and Oil & Gas Compression plants

· Capable of Interpreting P&ID's, general engineering drawings, and controls schematics

· Able to take responsibility for ensuring compliance with the Siemens and Customer Health, Safety & Environmental policies and procedures.

· Have an excellent knowledge of the North Sea HS&E requirements and be confident in reviewing, completing and compliance with internal Risk Assessment and Method Statements.

· Work within the company's operating procedures to ensure that the highest quality of work standards are maintained

· Able to produce technical reports, based on work conducted and recommendations required to resolve customer issues, and/or improve system reliability and availability

· Able to work at all levels to communicate project status and scope of work to Customers, Project managers and FS Colleagues.

· Respond to unscheduled breakdown events, in accordance with customer expectations.

· Be able to demonstrate initiative, be a flexible self-starter, working with the minimum direction and have the ability to work alone as well as be a team player.

· Provide Technical Support outside normal working hours

Key Responsibilities

·  Be the customer interface for Field Service and understand the value of excellent customer service delivery
·  Commissioning and troubleshooting: able to identify and resolve complex technical and performance issues
·  Understand the build and performance of the machine and its component parts and interpret P&ID and dimensional drawings
·  Verify OEM installation instruction and readings e.g Baseplate Level , Alignment
·  Commission, Carry out Modification, Service and Repair equipment.
·  Communicate progress, schedules and open items with client
·  Prepare detailed technical reports and complete check sheets.

You Will:

·  Educated to degree level is ideal
·  Industry related experience; be qualified in at least one of the following:
·  Mechanical Engineering
·  Electrical Engineering
·  Aerospace Engineering
·  Integrated Mechanical and Electrical Engineering
·  Must hold a Valid UK Passport and hold a clean driving licence.
·  Have excellent verbal and written communication skills
·  Able to travel internationally for up to 42 days.
·  Able to mobilise at short notice including weekends and work offshore on Oil Platforms and Vessels.
·  Demonstrate relevant training with Certificates; be able to obtain offshore certification OGUK and CCNSG.
