Join our manufacturing team as a Machinist to help us provide quality products that make a difference. Your primary function in position is to set up and operate a variety of machines and equipment. This role consists of machining, cutting, and using milling & boring equipment per specification, drawings and other instructions. In addition, you may be operating CNC machines, speed mills, lathes, vertical & horizontal boring mills, measuring and marking equipment, fixtures for machining the part, hand tools, gauges, drill press, Bridgeport machine, Fishtail Machine, saws, forklift, cranes and other lifting devices. You will be assigned to work night shift at our Fort Payne, AL facility.

What are your responsibilities?

·  Work from written manufacturing information and drawings.
·  Set up and operate speed mills, lathes, vertical and horizontal boring mill and other machines.
·  Review drawings and work packages for dimensions and other pertinent information; make new fixtures when necessary.
·  Assemble groups of parts and transport groups of parts to next location.
·  Deburr excess glass, copper, and micarta from angles, edges, holes etc. and check dimensions and appearance.
·  Insulate and test materials per specifications.
·  Check machined dimensions using fixed gauges and micrometers. Obtain first piece approval before continuing.

What will you need to qualify for this role?

·  High school diploma or Equivalent (a 2 yr technical school education a plus)
·  Relative machining experience.
·  Able to read and interpret complicated drawings, specifications, charts, tables and handbook formulas
·  Proficient with precision measuring equipment
·  Thorough knowledge of advanced shop mathematics.
·  Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds on a regular basis throughout the day.
