Come and join our team as a Logistics Coordinator, supporting our warehousing team in our Sudbury offices.

We are looking for a Logistics Coordinator to process all shipping documentation for goods exported out of our Sudbury site to our worldwide customers, as well as liaising with Siemens Oxford team supporting the inbound shipments.

The role will involve a great deal of operational administrative tasks, but also the opportunity to put in place process improvement initiatives. This role will involve significant interaction with warehouse staff, customer services and planning to guarantee a smooth flow of materials across the supply chain in compliance with current regulations.

Your mission and responsibilities:

·  Creating dispatch shipping groups for export shipments on a weekly basis
·  Process shipping documentation, such as proforma invoices, airway bills, packing lists, Certificate of Origins, CMR's, Collection Receipts and manifests according to requirements to different countries
·  Email export documents to freight forwarders and customers in a timely manner
·  Ensure export log of shipments is kept up to date and maintained with shipment delivery status and freight costs
·  Ensure archive of shipping documents is done according to all requirements and company procedures
·  Post goods issue of shipments after dispatch
·  Deal with freight forwarders whenever necessary in order to arrange or modify collection details
·  Monitor the shipments delivery progress to ensure shipments are delivered in a timely manner. Be proactive on spotting delays as well and contact freight forwarders on customs and delivery matters
·  Support freight cost analysis, as well as identify freight saving opportunities for export or import shipments
·  Communicate with Siemens Oxford team and relevant Sudbury persons in regard to inbound shipments
·  Work collaboratively with warehouse staff to identify opportunities in terms of optimising the process and eliminating waste, and support the team with administration as and when required
·  Constantly question current practices identifying improvement opportunities and implementing process changes with management and Business Excellence support;
·  Manage purchase orders for logistics providers;
·  Attend Known Consignor training to ensure compliance within the regulations
·  Work in accordance with the Health & Safety requirements in your area
·  Ensure delivery drivers adhere to the security requirements in your area
·  Conduct and complete 5S audits across 3 sites

Person Specification:

·  Experience dealing with freight forwarders and export operations
·  Experience of working with an ERP system, preferably SAP
·  Good Supply Chain knowledge
·  Good Microsoft skills
·  Good verbal communication, comfortable with speaking to staff at all levels and able to justify decision making process
·  Ability to work under pressure
·  Ability to work effectively in teams
·  Highly organised and results oriented

Desirable:

·  Familiar with lean concepts and tools
·  Export Control and Customs knowledge

Travel to other local sites may be required as part of this role
