Position Overview

The Industrial Maintenance Engineer supports the Maintenance Manager in planning, scheduling, analyzing and overseeing the preventative maintenance, repairs and installation of complex manufacturing equipment such as robotic welders, CNC machines, hydraulic presses, coordinated lifting equipment, remote controlled equipment movers, three-phase rectifiers, cranes, hoists, pumps, motors and other industrial equipment. These systems are critical to production and require maximum uptime to meet production goals. The successful candidate will be accountable for achieving equipment uptime goals. The position is within the maintenance department and will report to the Maintenance Manager.

Responsibilities

· 
Responsible for writing standard work instructions, PM task descriptions and troubleshooting flow charts.

· 
Responsible for writing job plans which will include hazard evaluations, LOTO, material and labor estimates as well as equipment down time estimates.

· 
Review and update plant and equipment drawings.

· 
Advise management on recommendations for equipment improvement, modification or replacement.

· 
Utilize CMMS to track and report on equipment reliability and uptime.

· 
Create spare parts lists and verify availability of spares for critical equipment.

· 
Provide technical expertise, troubleshooting support and training to maintenance technicians.

· 
Responsible for diagnosing and repairing down equipment and escalating if equipment uptime goals will be impacted.

Required Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

· 
Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, loop drawings, hydraulic diagrams, P&ID’s and blueprints.

· 
Proficient in three-phase power.

· 
Experience with motor and motion control.

· 
Proficiency in physics as it relates to pneumatics, hydraulics, mass, motion, electrical charge and thermodynamics.

· 
An understanding of the components used in hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical circuits.

· 
Must be organized and detailed.

· 
Must demonstrate a can-do attitude.

· 
Must be safety focused.

Preferred Knowledge/Skills, Education, and Experience

· 
Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.

· 
3-5 years experience working in a production or processing plant.

· 
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Project and PowerPoint

· 
Experience with PLC programming software such as TIA Portal or RSLogix.

· 
Experience working on VFD and Servo Drives.

· 
Mechanical experience with motion control components such as linear bearing, gears and splines a plus.

· 
Understanding of rectifiers and inverters.

· 
Experience with RTD’s, pressure transmitters, level transmitters and switches.

· 
Common instrumentation loop experience.

· 
Absolute and incremental encoders experience.

· 
Experience with machine guarding safety components such as light curtains, laser scanners, safety switches, estops and safety relays.
