Job description



Manages the application and implementation of approved accounting standards and policies, derives local accounting guidelines and procedures, for the whole spectrum of SFS business, drives local digitalization on own initiative with guiding a team of team leads and professionals; drives standardization between the accounting of SFS Inc. and Siemens Bank as head of SFS Accounting Platforms; continuously improves efficiency of the accounting teams in SFS Inc. and Siemens Bank

Areas of Responsibility:

·  Acts as a trusted advisor for SFS Business Units and Functions for all accounting topics
·  Ensures application and implementation of approved accounting policies for assigned organizational units, in line with respective legal/regulatory requirements (i.e. IFRS and local GAAP)
·  Ensures adequate implementation of accounting and reporting of new products as part of SFS’ New Product Approval process in line with regulatory requirements
·  Ensures that personnel in business is trained on new accounting policies and that processes and practices are adjusted if required
·  Ensures that internal controls are in place and effective, and cooperates with internal and external auditors
·  Ensures compliance with local accounting, tax, statutory and other applicable regulations in Finance/Accounting
·  Drives implementation of digitalization and automization initiatives as well as system changes as required due to global or local changes in regulations or process improvements and in form of productivity measures and acts as a change agent within the SFS Platforms Accounting team
·  Supports partners in SFS business in their digitalization efforts to automate processes
·  Provides financial reporting and analysis to all stakeholders (including e.g. preparation of Board of Directors’ meetings and Business Reviews)
·  Manages the preparation of closing and reporting procedures according to Siemens requirements
·  Accompanies P-Proposal and I-Application Process from an accounting perspective and ensures implementation of relevant accounting and controlling procedures
·  Cooperates with local tax team on taxation issues regarding business models and transactions, and liaises with local tax consultants
·  Leads SFS US Accounting competence team which supports the business applying respective accounting concepts to business models and transactions and takes the lead when new accounting standards are rolled out
·  Leads SFS US Portfolio Accounting Team and ensures proper collaboration with all relevant stakeholders in Business and Operations
·  Leads SFS US Transaction Accounting team
·  Head of AC PF SBA Team reports to head of SFS AC PF
·  Manages a team of managers and supports partners in SFS businesses
·  Drives standardization / best practice sharing between SFS Inc. and Siemens Bank and continuously improves efficiency in the accounting of both entities

Experience

Minimum of ten years of experience in accounting and/or BA functions within Siemens group, Headquarter experience in Siemens Financial Services is of advantage, experience in Siemens Financial Services accounting is of advantage, additional audit and consulting experience is of advantage, strong technical skills in accounting principles (especially financial instruments), experience in transfer to SAP S/4 and contract management system implementation is of advantage; minimum of three years of experience in leadership, track record in change management and continuous process harmonizations and improvements

Education

Masters degree in Finance or Accounting is a pre-requisite, Education as professional accountant (CPA or equivalent) is desired
