The Fire Alarm & Security Systems Technician is responsible for performing and/or assisting with inspections, repairs, and installation on a variety of systems: Fire Alarm Systems, IP-based Camera Systems and Video Management Software, Analog Camera Systems and Digital Video Recorders, Intrusion Systems, Access Control Systems, and others. These duties are performed primarily at larger commercial, State, and Federal buildings and hospitals throughout Alaska.

Responsibilities:

·  Performs system commissioning and testing and inspects systems under maintenance agreements
·  Responds and carries out to completion any troubleshooting and repairs to assigned customer systems
·  Reports daily on activities completed, deferred, or requiring further action or material
·  Participates in On-Call assignments/schedules as required
·  Conducts on-going system operation training for end user customers

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Education:

·  Associate's Degree in Electronics or related technical field preferred, although a combination of experience in the installation and maintenance of low voltage electronic systems along with education (a High School Diploma or GED equivalency a minimum requirement) will also be considered
·  NICET II in Fire Alarm Systems is required
·  Familiarity with the installation and maintenance of Fire Safety Products, Card Access, VMS, CCTV, and Intrusion Systems
·  Strong customer service skills
·  Excellent verbal and written communications skills
·  Proficient in PC applications and in the use of word processing and spreadsheet programs
·  Ability to lift seventy-five (75) pounds unassisted
·  Must be willing and available to participate in our on-call rotation
·  Individual must be at least 21 years of age with a valid driver's license in good standing order to participate in the required Siemens vehicle plan
