What will you do?

In collaboration with the Engineering department, management and the GL, the electromechanic is responsible for preventative and corrective maintenance of the industrial equipment at the Siemens Drummondville plant. Here are the main tasks:

·  Assemble and modify machinery and equipment and ensure the general maintenance of existing equipment and the building;
·  Install, repair and adjust electronic, electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls of machinery, automated equipment and/or buildings;             
·  Use tools (hammers, wrenches, tappers), machine tools (lathes, milling machines, drills) handling equipment (hoists, forklifts, aerial platforms, platform lifts) and hot work instruments (welders, plasma cutters, fire guards), as well as precision instruments such as micrometers, verniers, indicators, etc.;
·  Install, repair and adjust manufactured or modified equipment;
·  Work off of drawings, sketches or verbal instructions; Complete or make certain drawings, as needed;
·  Determine the most efficient working methods based on the work to be done, under minimal supervision;
·  Complete the training required to use existing, modified or new equipment;
·  Ensure the maintenance and cleanliness of the toolbox provided by the employer, as well as the tools provided by Siemens, in accordance with the policy and the performance of the task at hand, including a regularly updated list of these tools;
·  Report any missing or dwindling materials to the maintenance and tooling supervisor to maintain continuity of work;
·  Ensure that work meets reasonable quality and time requirements according to the task at hand, under minimal supervision;
·  Assess the materials required for each job before starting;
·  Assist colleagues in maintaining order, cleanliness and quality of work;
·  Adhere to the provincial electrical code in effect and carry out assigned tasks in accordance with established practices and current legislation;
·  Duly and systematically fill out all documents and forms required by the Quality, Product Engineering and R&D, Manufacturing Engineering, and Health, Safety, and Environment departments, at the required frequency;
·  Complete training as required on the use of existing, modified or new equipment as well as on preventative maintenance;
·  Perform all other related tasks as assigned. Voluntary overtime!

What will you need to succeed?

·  DEP in electromechanics of automated systems, electrical engineering or mechanical maintenance or equivalent
·  Minimum 5 years of relevant experience
·  Very strong technical knowledge and autonomy
·  Availability to work night shift from 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m., Monday to Friday
·  Strong knowledge of French (spoken and written)
·  Basic knowledge of English (spoken and written)
·  Ability to work well in a team, with autonomy and initiative
