Job description



The engineer is responsible for collaborating with end clients and internal Schneider Electric stakeholders to recommend and develop Protection Control and Automation solutions that meet the clients' performance objectives, schedule requirements, and address project risks associated with highly integrated systems.

This position is responsible for both business development and engineering. The engineer should become the technical advisor to both internal and external clients. This position is expected to meet with customers and create Schneider Electric solutions that will add value to the customers while minimizing the risks associated with advanced power system design. The PCA engineer is expected to lead projects, working closely with all parts of the Schneider Electric Engineering Services team. Other responsibilities include:

- Develop Scope of Work, proposals, and estimates

- Identify gaps or risks in the control system strategies

- Provide technical advice during pre-sale engineering consulting

- Educate internal/external stakeholders on technical strategy

- Develop and maintain relationships with key clients

- Train/mentor team members to provide localized support services

- Execute engineering and commissioning of advanced power system controls

- Ensures high-quality results, delivered on-schedule, and efficiently executed within margin targets

Qualifications :

Minimum Qualifications:

> 10+ years of experience engineering power system automation and controls

> Demonstrated ability to develop project scope and identify project risks (technical, schedule, cost, change order)

> Demonstrated ability to quickly establish trust of clients in a consulting role

> Demonstrated ability to develop competitive technical solutions and statements of work.

> Proficient in MS Office applications, MS Project, MS Visio, MS Excel

> Demonstrated experience developing Sequence of Operations for complex power system controls

> Demonstrated experience with AC/DC control system design

> Demonstrated experience developing design drawings and panel layouts

> Demonstrated experience with PLC/PAC programming (Modicon, AB, GE, Siemens, SEL)

> Demonstrated experience with generator protection and load-sharing and synchronization controls (Cummins, CAT, Woodward)

> Demonstrated experience with drafting tools (AutoCAD Electrical preferred)

> Demonstrated ability to commission and troubleshoot complex power systems

> Demonstrated ability to program relays (SEL, MiCOM, Basler, Beckwith, SEPAM)

Preferred Qualifications:

> BS or MS in an engineering discipline

> Professional certification from an accredited certification program: Professional Engineer (PE) license

> Estimating experience

> PLC/Relay Commissioning experience

> Utility substation automation experience

> Standards development and training experience
