Project Engineer


This position is accountable for managing moderate size and complexity product design evolution projects , from start to finish, so that it is completed on time and within budget. This includes initiating, planning, executing and closing of projects.

Produces the technical specifications considering project team inputs (especially marketing), to fulfill the customer requirements. Produces the technical definition of the product / solution, integrating re-usable core functional blocks. Guarantees product / solution performance and robustness, through simulation, prototypes and testing. Is accountable for engineering quality and contributes to cost targets, in accordance with project objectives and decisions made. Prepares manufacturing with Industrialization / Manufacturing implementation teams. Collaborates effectively with other functions within the project, and other PDLs when part of a larger system project.

Utilizes a base knowledge of Schneider Electric products and their use and demonstrates an understanding of the fundamental knowledge, processes and terminology needed for effective project management.

Qualifications :

This job might be for you if:




BSc in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering, (Physics or Materials majors are acceptable).

2-3 years of relevant experience in electromechanical mass production industries (e. g. electrical distribution products, automotive, electro domestic products, sensors and actuators, etc.).

Leadership, communication and people skills.

Training and/or experience in some of the following areas:

Residential or industrial wiring methods and practices. National Electric code.

Mechanics of materials

Kinematics of mechanisms, in particular multi-bar and latching systems

Electromagnetism

Electric arc interruption

Applied Statistics (ANOVA, DOE, Process Capability/Control)

CAE (Finite Element/Finite Differences)

Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing

Basic CAD (Pro E/Creo)

Ferrous and Non-Ferrous metals

Thermo-plastic and Thermo-set polymers

Applied Dimensioning/Tolerance of Components and Assemblies

Product Testing and Evaluation Methods

Multi-Phase Low voltage AC circuits distribution and control

Heat Transfer

Stamping, Molding, and Extrusion Fabrication Processes for mass production

Travel 25% to customer sites and manufacturing plants.
