What is the role?

Based in Gepps Cross, Adelaide , we have an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Designer to join our Design Lab . Our Lab is one of five global hubs that designs products, tools and interfaces that are integral in the evolution of Schneider Electrics brand and global product portfolio.

Reporting to the Industrial Design Director this role will be responsible to manage the design projects which have been assigned to our Design Lab.

Key responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to;

· Manage a range of industrial design projects from within Schneider Electric entities;
· Act as the Voice of the Customer and translate user requirements, technical realities, brand attributes and business needs into compelling products that generate a positive experience;
· Organise and accompany projects outsourced to external design agencies;
· Implement our rules of brand design and design charters to ensure consistency across Schneider Electric products;
· Participate in design reviews, presenting key projects of the design lab;
· Maintain contact and work with Schneider's other global design labs.

· Tertiary qualifications in Industrial Design (minimum 4 year degree)
· Minimum 1 years working experience in related industries;
· Proven ability to coordinate deliverables and schedules;
· Demonstrated visualization skills with hand and digital sketching;
· Ability to balance visual and functional design elements;
· Knowledge of the product development life cycle and manufacturing process';
· Experience producing mock-up and test models using a variety of materials;
· Highly creative with the ability to continuously bring forward new ideas;
· Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite and 3D CAD (Rhino preferred);
· Ability to build and maintain relationships across project teams and a variety of stakeholders;
· Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
