ASCO Power Technologies, an industry leader in the manufacturing of Automatic Transfer Switches, Industrial Control Products, Load Banks, Power Control Systems, Services and Solutions, has an exciting career opportunity for a Firmware Engineer based out of Florham Park, NJ.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Firmware Engineer will design, develop and support microcontroller based embedded software for control products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Develop microcontroller/microprocessor based embedded software utilizing high level languages such as C, C++.
· Support existing software and products.
· Ability to read and interpret schematics.
· Write specifications and design documents necessary for design documentation.
· Verify designs per specifications.
· Provide technical support to peers and associated departments.
· Provide estimates on project work and duration.
· Participate in product design reviews.

Desired profile



Qualifications :

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

·  Advanced experience in developing microcontroller based embedded software.
·  Sound understanding of 8 & 32 bit microprocessors, their capabilities and proper application.
·  Familiarity with RTOS operation and implementation.
·  Familiarity with fieldbus communications, such as CAN, Modbus.
·  Familiarity with Linux.
·  Fundamental understanding of analog and digital electronics.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

·  BSEE or BSCS and a minimum of 3 years of experience in the field of microcontroller/microprocessor based embedded software.

·  Must be able to communicate effectively.
·  Must be able to manage details and meet deadlines.
·  Must be able to work independently.
·  Must be able to solve technical problems.
