Field Engineer (Western Region)

Installed Base Services Engineer- Senior (Ensures oversight and leadership on complex installation, maintenance and repair of customer installed base. Identify new opportunities while attending customer sites to promote Services growth. Knowledge transfer within Filed Services domain and coordination with IBS Technicians and Engineers).

This position is accountable for performing specific engineering tasks related to electrical/mechanical applications, field installations, equipment modernization. This position has specific responsibilities for the Western Region, however is expected to provide local, regional and national business support where necessary. Work on complex solution where analysis of situations or data requires an in depth evaluation of various inputs.

The primary responsibilities of this position are:

· To serve as an escalation contact for Field Service Technicians during project execution and problem solving.

· Technical support contact for Services Sales Representatives and Quotation team during RFI and RFQ phase.

· Support Marketing and Design Engineering through offer creation process participation (OCP)

· Serves as subject matter expert in modernization, troubleshooting and upgrade methodology

· Coaches and trains on complex technical issues regarding modernization upgrades

· Knows the electrical standards requirements and applies them in innovative ways to real life situations

· Recommends and justifies new designs to be developed for equipment modernization.

· Establish electrical and mechanical bills of material.

· Supports manufacturing and quality control with related documentation.

· Leads and influences the generation of customer technical specifications.

· Collaboration with line of business technical support teams

· Provide technical input to help make/buy decision making process

· Review, verify and comment the electrical and mechanical design for assigned projects.

· Time management to meet projects deliverables (approval drawings, shop packages, etc..)

Desired profile

Qualifications :

· Electrical Engineering Degree with 5+ years of related field experience

· Professional designation (P.Eng/Eng/PMP/CET) is an asset

· For eastern provinces fluency in French and English is required

· Experience with using AutoCAD, ODM and Q2C, MS project, BFS and RPM

· Ability to interpret elevation, single line diagrams, wiring schematics

· Proficiency with CSA/UL/CEC product offer related standards

· Knowledge of Customer Project Process (CPP)

· Excellent ability to troubleshoot electrical control systems, ground fault protection and zone interlocking schemes, auto transfer schemes, utility metering and circuit monitoring.

· Strong background and experience in Schneider Electric MV and LV product offer

· Thorough knowledge of electrical applications with a strong practical and theoretical understanding of electrical power systems, and good aptitude for problem evaluation

Other requirements:

· Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays and night work. Must be available for domestic and international travel of up to 30%.

· Ability to obtain security clearance to perform work at a Federal Governments sites and other organization with security clearance requirement.

· Valid driving license with clean driving record
