Major Activities of the Job:

·  Participate and support the transfer and/or implementation of new technologies/equipment/processes for Bacterial and/or Viral cell expansion, fermentation, recovery and purification which may be transferred locally from the Upstream and/or Downstream Platforms into the CBM or originate from within the CBM.
·  Support production of the Clinical Drug Substance for viral and bacterial antigens in CBM GMP facilities. This includes aseptic operator qualification and use of aseptic processing equipment, including, disposable closed systems, and autoclaves. This includes understand and performance of environmental monitoring within Grade A/B and the surrounding Class C areas, as well as maintaining records for inventory of materials.
·  Assist with the development of cell expansion, fermentation, recovery and purification experiments and protocols for viral and bacterial antigens. This includes assisting with the develop and execution of experiments to grow, harvest and purify viral and bacterial antigens for Bioprocess Research and Development. Experiments require knowledge of cell expansion techniques, fermentation and protein/virus purification, and aseptic techniques. Assist with the transfer of the process and technologies to the clinical bulk manufacturing platform. Assist with the preparation of reports summarizing experimental and assay results to be disseminated to supervisor and external customers.
·  Assist with the preparation of SOPs, BPRs, protocols, investigation of non-conformances and initiation of change controls. Authors, reviews and revises BRD validation documents.
·  Be in compliance with employment and health & safety legislation and work within the policies, procedures and regulations.

Minimum Qualifications:

·  Minimum four (4) years Bachelors Degree (Biochemistry, Chemistry, Microbiology) along with one (1) year of relevant work experience
·  Preferred two (2) years Masters Degree
·  Sound knowledge of Cell Expansion, Fermentation and Purification procedures, processes, and technologies
·  Qualified Aseptic operator and knowledge of aseptic techniques
·  Strong Computer skills and familiarity with MS Word, Excel and SAP
