About the Opportunity

Due to the launch of several new vaccines in the coming years, Sanofi Pasteur is currently welcoming applications for the role of Medical Science Liaison. The Medical Science Liaison applies medical and scientific (non-promotional) expertise regarding the company product and related therapy areas to educate experts in vaccination & vaccinology incl.  Pediatricians, GP’s & associations, Infectious disease experts, Immunologists, Travel Medicine experts, other experts depending on disease targeted by vaccine and Occupational Health services. In addition, the Medical Science Liaison provides market intelligence and training to internal colleagues. To succeed in these objectives, the Medical Scientific Liaison is a strong project manager.

Key responsibilities

·  Gather local insights in the fields of new focus areas by being the trusted scientific partner to key external experts by conducting timely, appropriate and frequent scientific exchanges to enhance the understanding of the scientific and medical value of our products and competitors.
·  Contribute to the execution of stakeholder engagement plans to gather data, develop and share medical insights that contribute to enhancement of Sanofi Pasteur’ key medical messages, plans and future research.
·  Identify, develop and maintain collaborative relationships with current and future leaders within the disease area ((key) external experts (K)EEs.
·  Liaise with HCPs on Vaccine research.
·  Support, if applicable, advisory boards in order to generate an understanding of and feedback on e.g. clinical and safety profiles, risk management and market access.
·  Respond to field medical questions.
·  Contribute to the local Medical Affairs plan in collaboration with relevant departmental colleagues.
·  Prepare and/or contributing as appropriate to initial and ongoing medical/scientific disease area and product-specific training.
·  Maintain effective and appropriate communication among internal stakeholders (Medical Affairs colleagues, Medical Information and Commercial Operations) while maintaining full compliance with relevant company, industry, legal and regulatory requirements.
·  Use appropriate CRM tools to collect the insights.

About you

Qualifications

·  Master’s degree in a biomedical field (MD, PhD, Pharm D) preferred, or other Relevant Life Sciences Degree (MS) with Healthcare Specialty required.

Experience

·  Previous pharmaceutical industry experience is an asset.
·  Clear understanding of medical practice, clinical decision making, and healthcare systems related to patient care and prevention.
·  Ability to interpret key scientific data.
·  Exemplary communication and presentation skills.
·  Experience in working on multi-disciplinary teams.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE

·  Utilizes effective, professional communications to support working relationships with internal and external colleagues, flexible in own approach to people and situations.
·  Skilfully plans, prioritizes, and executes multiple responsibilities and projects.
·  Good understanding and knowledge of local regulations and codes of practice for pharmaceutical industry, as they apply to the non-promotional activities of this role.
·  Demonstrates scientific expertise to translate expert feedback into appropriate insights.
·  Knowledge of relevant healthcare systems, the evolving medical landscape, regulatory and payer environment, public health and industry trends.
·  Proficiency in digital tools.
·  Fluent in Dutch and English.
