ITS Data Engineer Expert

Job description

The purpose of this role is to support the development of our big data platform (code, test, deployment, support) and derived applications with the aim of extracting, consolidating, (ETL), and applying algorithms (data-mining, business rules) on large data sets (structured and unstructured), and make them available pour business purposes (digital product, data science, data vizualization).

As part of the ITS industrial affairs Data & analytics team, contribute to the design and implementation of the data platform architecture.

The role will require strong interfaces with:

·  Cloud data architect
·  Product Owners
·  ITS Scrum Masters
·  Data platform teams
·  External Implementation Partners

Key accountabilities:

·  Build optimal data pipelines that meet business owners needs and requirements
·  Maintain the most critical data sets with high quality monitoring
·  Develop tools and processes to collect and monitor Data Quality metrics
·  Participate in building the long term vision on data platform

Requirements:

·  5+ years of experience
·  Solid coding experiences in Python and Scala are required. Being knowledgeable on JavaScript / Front-end technologies is a plus (React / Vue).
·  Deep understanding & experience in implementing AWS managed, data oriented, services (Glue, MSK, Elastic search, RDS, Lambda with Python, Step Functions, …) in a context of building serverless data platform (Batch & Streaming Data pipelines)
·  Experience in Spark framework with Scala
·  Strong culture in developing code with high quality requirements (Tests and other related best practices)
·  Experience on Infra as Code, especially with AWS CloudFormation
·  Practical experience on data modeling and ETL
·  Experience with CI/CD and GitLab pipelines more specifically is a plus
·  Knowledge on R language is a plus. Knowledge on Data Visualization topics. Qlik is a plus.
