Job Description

Executes quality control testing of manufactured products by following standard operating procedures (SOPs) in the laboratory.  Evaluates analytical data to determine the quality and conformance of food and pharmaceutical ingredients. Works closely with production team leaders, engineers and operators to maintain good process control in the manufacturing units. Follows good laboratory and safety practices, reviews analytical procedures and trains new employees on laboratory techniques.  The QC Analyst will operate, maintain and calibrate analytical instrumentation such as HPLC and UV spectrophotometers.  Other responsibilities include troubleshooting and repair of lab equipment and completion of written laboratory investigation reports.

·  Read and follow SOPs and perform analytical testing in a Quality Control laboratory
·  Operate analytical instruments, including calibrations, cleaning and basic maintenance
·  Collaborate with production managers and engineers on cross-functional teams to meet manufacturing targets and improve production and quality performance
·  Creates and reviews laboratory documents, including forms, logsheets and SOPs
·  Provides analytical and technical support to Manufacturing, Quality, and Environmental departments
·  Responsible for inventory control and ordering of laboratory chemicals and consumables

Required Competencies, Education and Experience

·  Bachelor’s degree in a Scientific Field or related Discipline
·  Problem Solving and Troubleshooting Capability
·  Technical and Analytical Thinking Proficiency
·  Communication and Interpersonal Skills 
·  Self-Directed and Independent

Laboratory, plant and office work environment.

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Swing shift rotations includes 12-hour shifts alternating between day and night shifts.

Travel is not required for this position.
