Instrument Maintenance Technician responsibilities include testing of Company products following documented procedures to assure conformance to specifications and standards, completing written records of work done, and identifying and documenting non-conformances in piece parts, assemblies and test results. In addition, an Instrument Maintenance Technician must be able to effectively troubleshoot routine and unusual test failures to the subassembly level, occasionally consulting with more experienced technicians. An Instrument Maintenance Technician is expected to assist other technicians in troubleshooting as needed. Responsibilities may also include assembly of Company products, may also assist with on-the-job training of other technicians.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

·  Maintains the QC and Histology Instruments (monthly and quarterly.)
·  Performs yearly PM service and any repairs required throughout the year for QC and Histology Instruments.
·  Is responsible for maintenance and limited repairs on the automated filling machine for both the dispenser fill area and the large bottle filling machine.
·  Assists with the validation of products related to automated filling equipment.
·  Reads and follows assembly drawings, test procedures and other written instructions.
·  Completes appropriate manufacturing forms accurately.
·  Troubleshoots routine test failures to the subassembly level, and component level.
·  Tests assembled instruments for circuit continuity and operational reliability.
·  Analyzes test results and repairs or adjusts instruments according to analysis.
·  Records test results and writes report.
·  Calibrates instruments according to specifications.
·  Monitors work to ensure quality, and continuously promote Quality First Time.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Formal Training/Education:

·  Associates degree in electronics, electrical engineering other technical field.

OR

Experience:

·  3-5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

·  Read and understand electrical, mechanical, and pneumatic schematics, assembly drawing and work procedures.
·  Use of test equipment; for example, digital voltmeter and precision weight scale.
·  Use of hand tools; for example, screwdrivers, wrenches, nut-drivers and ruler.
·  Accurately recognize non-conforming test results.
·  Ability, with training, to use PC-based applications such as the Intranet, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and Oracle to view assembly and test instructions, and to create the work records, memos, documents and charts described above.
·  Communicate the theory of operation for systems under test.
·  Solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
·  Interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
·  Read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
·  Write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
·  Effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of peers, managers, clients and customers.
·  Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
·  Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
·  Compute rate, ratio and percent and to draw and interpret graphs.
