The Summer @ Roche Intern Program has been developed to provide students with a fun yet rewarding summer through hands-on experience and numerous opportunities to network with other interns as well as employees in the organization. Additionally, we help our students meet their career development and educational goals while potentially building a future with the Roche organization. Program Requirements:

· 
Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university during program calendar year 2021

· 
Completed at least 2 years of college/university to be eligible for the program.

· 
Must have a ≥3.0 GPA; please attach a copy of your transcript in order to be considered for this internship opportunity.

· 
Minimum availability of 12 weeks (Required start on or before program Welcome Reception and end date on or after Summer End Poser Symposium).

· 
Previous experience in the job duties listed, either through course work or industry/academia

· 
Participation in student organizations and/or other leadership experience

​As a Software Quality Automation Intern, you will be part of a team to test web technologies, distributed systems, and high-performance cloud computing platforms. You will have the opportunity to impact Infrastructure (Platform) and Applications Development as a full-stack automation tester using your Java (and other languages) skills while helping to develop automation test suites. If you have a passion for the opportunity to build superb software products for genome and cancer analysis, we want you on our team!

Responsibilities:

· 
Design, implement, run and maintain an end-to-end automation test suites and quality dashboards using tools such as Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, Python, Selenium Webdriver, Cucumber, TestNG, JUnit

· 
Generate a detailed test reports based on results of automated test execution

· 
Report software defects using task/defect tracking tools (JIRA) and follow established practices andguiding documents and procedures

· 
Conduct a code review of automated tests created by other team members

· 
Help to programmatically create complicated test setup (including test data) for manual testing

· 
Help to integrate automated tests into existing CI/CD infrastructure (Jenkins)

· 
Work on improving test automation frameworks, automation tools and libraries, constantly enhance testcoverage

· 
Help in applying Behavior Driven Development (BDD) principles to automation testing

· 
Work closely with Developers, Designers, Verification and Validation Engineers in order to determine which of the functionality should be automated

· 
Help Developers to reproduce and investigate software defects found during automated and manualtesting

· 
Conduct bug fix verification - both manual and automated

· 
Participate in regular meetings - daily stand-ups, design discussions, retrospective analyzes, effortestimations, Sprint/Release plannings, etc.

· 
Demonstrate ability to routinely learn and apply new technologies in an accelerated manner in a fast-paced Agile environment

Requirements:

· 
Engineering majors (Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, etc.) preferred.

· 
Proficient with compiled (Java) and scripting languages (JavaScript or TypeScript).

Learn how to improve teamwork, communication and collaboration skills by working in fast paced Agile environment

· 
You will be familiarized with CI/CD (Jenkins, Kubernetes) and cloud (AWS) solutions

Given the current uncertainty of the global pandemic and work from home situation for 2021, the majority of internships are currently planned to be virtual with the option for interns to work remotely from within U.S. Borders. Internships that operate in business critical roles, such as Operations and Research & Development may require you to work on campus. We will keep candidates informed if this changes.
