The Summer @ Roche Intern Program has been developed to provide students with a fun yet rewarding summer through hands-on experience and numerous opportunities to network with other interns as well as employees in the organization. Additionally, we help our students meet their career development and educational goals while potentially building a future with the Roche organization. Leveraging the education you received already, we hope to give you an opportunity to grow and develop with us!

Program Requirements:

· 
Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university during program calendar year 2020

· 
Completed at least 2 years of college/university to be eligible for the program.

· 
Must have a ≥3.0 GPA.Please attach a copy of your transcript in order to be considered for this internship opportunity.

· 
Minimum availability of 12 weeks (Required start on or before program Welcome Reception and end date on or after Summer End Poster Symposium).

· 
Previous experience in the job duties listed, either through course work or industry/academia

· 
Participation in student organizations and/or other leadership experience

Responsibilities:

Global Policy & Access help create enabling pathways through which indicated patients may receive benefits through their insurance coverage. Access Stakeholders include public and private health authorities, clinical communities, patient groups and related organizations. We support Roche Diagnostics, as well as Roche Pharmaceutical, business areas and Affiliates worldwide. Examples of our work include engagements with policymakers, payers, development of economic outcomes evidence, preparation of tools, messages and programs for the benefit of Roche Affiliates and their local markets.

As the Global Policy & Access Intern, you will generally focus on:

· 
Research activities focusing upon public policy and access relating to advanced testing using next generation sequencing (NGS) for oncology applications.

· 
Support educational content development relating to advanced testing, through use of our proprietary Access Educational & Awareness Framework.

· 
Support the development of educational resources intended for use with policymakers, payers and other Access stakeholder focused on the use of comprehensive genomic profiling use NGS technologies.

Qualifications:

· 
College enrollment having completed at least two years of undergraduate work required; enrollment of an advanced degree preferred (e.g. Masters, JD, PhD, MD).

· 
Strong skills in research, writing, analytics and communications.

· 
Interest in the field of public health care, health care systems administration, government affairs or market access preferred.

What you will learn:

· 
Foundational insights into health system operations globally, including public health policy, reimbursement operations and diversity of health care systems globally.

· 
Key requirements in creating enabling access pathways for innovative medical technologies, including evidence requirements, market development through public policy, reimbursement operations and engagements with key internal and external stakeholders.

· 
How best to operate within a global, highly matrixed, organization.

Given the current uncertainty of the global pandemic and work from home situation for 2021, the majority of internships are currently planned to be virtual with the option for interns to work remotely from within U.S. Borders. Internships that operate in business critical roles, such as Operations and Research & Development may require you to work on campus. We will keep candidates informed if this changes.
