The Roche Innovation Center Zurich (Schlieren, Switzerland) is active in the research and development of engineered therapeutic antibodies, with a focus on the fields of cancer immunotherapy and immunotherapy in general. Part of the Roche Group since 2005, it employs about 130 people.

This internship offers the opportunity to work with the CIT-3 Department and to interact closely with a team of scientists and associates working on a novel class of cancer immunotherapy agents. The central tasks include performing in vitro biological assays to characterize the activity of novel immunotherapies.

Your main accountabilities will be:

· 
Work with human tumor cell lines and blood

· 
In vitro characterization of the activity of novel immunotherapies (assessment of tumor cell lysis, immune cell activation, proliferation, cytokine release)

· 
Characterization of Peripheral Blood Mononuclear Cells (PBMCs) by Fluorescence-Activated Cell Sorting (FACS)

· 
Data analysis and interpretation, regular presentations at internal meetings

Das Roche Innovation Center Zürich (Roche Glycart AG) ist in der Erforschung und Entwicklung gentechnischer therapeutischer Antikörper tätig. Schwerpunkte sind die Krebs-Immuntherapie sowie die Immuntherapie allgemein. Glycart gehört seit 2005 zur Roche-Gruppe und beschäftigt zirka 140 Mitarbeitende. Mehr dazu .

Desired profile

Who you are

You are an enrolled Bachelor or Master student within pharmaceutical sciences, biology, biochemistry or a related field. You are motivated to increase and share your theoretical and practical knowledge on this emerging and exciting field of cancer immunotherapy. You are an enthusiast of new technologies and you easily show engagement with people.

Further qualifications:

· 
Know-how to maintain the laboratory/workstation in accordance with current technical, safety and regulatory standards

· 
First hands-on experience with mammalian cell culture

· 
Excellent organizational skills and a flexible approach to coordinate demanding workloads as well as the ability to adapt to changes

· 
Ability to work effectively and independently within a diverse group of people

· 
Written and verbal English is mandatory
