The position

We are looking for a Solution Architect to design and communicate high-level structures to enable and guide the design and development of integrated solutions that meet current and future business needs.

You will demonstrate understanding of requirements gathering and is able to show how agreed requirements (such as automation of business processes) are addressed by the proposed solution. You will support the innovation and optimization of processes and methods within the domain to meet system or user requirements and develop new functionality. You will also support the development of, and modifications to, solution components to ensure that they take account of relevant architectures, strategies, policies, standards and practices and that existing and planned solution components remain compatible. You will take active interest in, process, organization, operating model and other aspects of Roche wide IT.

You will apply and implement process standards and participate in their introduction and rollout. You will observe governance processes, highlights areas for improvement and assist in their implementation. You will implements appropriate framework and processes, as well as to ensure it adheres to the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). You will maintain appropriate documentation of tasks and activities performed as required by project and other authorities.

According to the DIA IT operation model, you will contribute to the following processes:

·  Assure Application of IT Standards
·  Initiate Project
·  Define / Design / Build / Test / Transit IT Solution
·  Deploy IT Solution & Close Project

You will need to understand business processes governing the application and is able to establish links with other technical teams responsible for the application delivery. You will support the implementation of projects within area of technical expertise, and to contribute to the implementation planning. You will participate in a virtual team of Solution Architects, and to pursue additional training and education suitable for the role. You will help establish Informatics standards for System Delivery Specification and Technical System Design, and to define testing strategies for System and User Acceptance tests.

Around 25% travel within the region will be required for this role.

Who you are

You are someone who influences your own development, pursues your interests across functions and geographies, and understands that a job title is not the final definition of who you are, but a starting point.

You should ideally possess a Bachelor in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent, and have at least 5 years of professional IT experience in a global organization (Pharmaceutical/Healthcare preferred). You should have basic knowledge in the area of expertise and preferably a broad IT knowledge. Industry recognized certifications in the relevant area are a plus (ITIL, TOGAF).

You are strategic and have the ability to manage ambiguity while coping with challenging business needs and project goals. With excellent communication and presentation skills, you must be able to communicate fluently in both written and spoken English. You should be able to work flexibly outside of normal working hours or on call arrangements to provide support as well as to be able to travel occasionally.
