The Roche Innovation Center of Excellence, located in Schlieren, Switzerland is active in the research and development of engineered therapeutic antibodies, with a focus on the fields of cancer immunotherapy and immunotherapy in general. It became a part of the Roche Group in 2005 and since then employs about 180 people.

The Position:

The Pre-clinical Imaging and Analytics team is part of the Oncology Discovery Pharmacology Department of the Roche Innovation Center Zürich, leading company in the development of cancer immuno-therapeutics. As a scientist, you will be working together with other scientists and associates, supporting the in vivo characterization of drug candidates.

In this position you will:

·  Be responsible for establishing, performing and analyzing the tissue samples using a 3 dimension multiplexing confocal imaging approach
·  Be applying the established platform (from tissue preparation to data analysis) to evaluate samples as per requests. Ability to perform hand on experiments is essential for this position
·  Be performing bio-distribution experiments as well as efficacy experiments using bioluminescence and fluorescence imaging (BLI/FLI)
·  Have an ability to develop algorithm for data analysis including basic knowledge to apply Artificial Intelligence. The analysis should be applied to several technologies including static imaging, dynamic imaging and BLI/FLI imaging.
·  Design and conduct in vivo animal studies to answer key open questions related to TCB mode of action
·  Be responsible for the aliquotations of dedicated compounds for in vivo experiments.

The candidate should have a strong knowledge on how to prepare the tissue, how to develop 11-13 plex Abs panel combinations, and to be proficient in using the confocal microscope and in analyzing the images and apply principles of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for data analysis. Proof of ability to perform such work stream will be a benefit.

We are looking for a candidate with strong experience with 3-dimension tissue analysis by high multiplex confocal imaging approach applied to the study of the immune-system.

Additionally, you will have below qualifications:

·  PhD or Post Doc in immunology and an excellent knowledge of cancer immunology/cancer immunotherapy
·  High degree of reliability and hands-on ability
·  You have very good interpersonal and communication skills, are able to build good working relationships, and are a great teammate
·  A high degree of self-motivation, flexibility and capacity to independently setup and conduct experiments and assay developments
·  Excellent communication skills, endowed with personal initiative, precise/diligent, detail oriented to provide high quality data
·  Skills required to perform image data analysis (IMARIS, MATLAB)
·  You enjoy working in a multidisciplinary and multicultural environment and have an interest in work stream automation
·  Proficient in English (both oral and written)
