The Position

As postdoctoral fellow in the Large Molecules Research (LMR) department located in Schlieren (Zurich), Switzerland, you will be driving a project that addresses the generation of antibodies that should induce agonistic activity on defined immune-receptors.

The aim of this project is to evaluate different routes and methodologies for the targeted delivery and assembly of immune activating compounds.

You will:

·  Generate the tools and antigens for the antibody generation campaigns against those receptors.
·  Perform in vitro display antibody selection.
·  Characterize the antibodies in vitro by SPR and FACS.
·  Characterize the putative therapeutic molecules in cellular activity assays.
·  Organize and pursue the interactions between all partners involved.
·  Present data at internal and external meetings.

This position is sponsored by the Roche Postdoctoral Fellowship Program (RPF) and is initially set for two years, extension for a third year is possible.

Das Roche Innovation Center Zürich (Roche Glycart AG) ist in der Erforschung und Entwicklung gentechnischer therapeutischer Antikörper tätig. Who you are

You are someone who wants to influence your own development. You are flexible, proactive, creative and detail-oriented, and have top teamwork competency but can also work highly independent.

You fit those requirements:

·  A recent PhD in biochemistry/biotechnology (max 3 years after completing PhD)
·  Extensive practical knowledge in molecular biology, with some focus on phage display or related in vitro display technologies.
·  High competency and technical affinity to maintain sophisticated lab equipment.
·  Prior experience in cell based biological assays.
·  Proven ability to present and publish research data.
·  Excellent inter-personal and communication skills / ability to build good working relations.
·  Proficiency in spoken and written English. German language is a plus.
