The Position:

As Research Associate (m/f/d) you will join the CIT2 Department at Roche Innovation Center Munich (Penzberg, Germany) and will interact closely with the team of other research associates, scientists and senior scientists as well as Post Docs working on novel class of cancer immunotherapy agents and their testing in primary human tumor explants. She/he will focus on performing in vitro biological assays to characterize the in vitro and ex vivo activity of new molecules.

The principal responsibilities will include:

·  Maintenance of in vitro cell cultures
·  PBMC isolation and processing of primary human tumor material
·  Performing 2D and 3D co-culture assays of PBMCs and primary human tumors
·  Supporting the work of scientists and senior scientists by performing in vitro/ex vivo assays based on tumor/immune cell cultures and co-cultures
·  Assessment of antibody binding, antibody-mediated tumor cell killing, immune cell phenotyping, assessment of activation, proliferation and cytokine secretion
·  Routine quality controls of molecules and batches
·  Data analysis and interpretation, contribution to preparation of scientific presentations and writing of scientific reports
·  Laboratory manager responsibilities including daily lab routine, ordering supplies, monitoring inventory and contracts will also be required

For this position you bring the following qualifications:

·  Bachelor or Master's degree with recent research experience in cell biology or tumor immunology (no PhD)
·  Excellent experience with mammalian cell culture, PBMC isolation and handling as well as primary human tumor processing
·  Excellent experience with primary human tumor cell-immune cell cultures and co-cultures (especially 3D co-cultures), various cell biology techniques and state-of-the art immunoprofiling techniques for functional characterization of immune cell responses (>6 parameter analysis by flow cytometry, CBA, MACS sorting, ELISA, luminescence)
·  Experience in primary cell preparation for scRNAseq and CyTOF is a big plus
·  Good written and verbal English is mandatory
·  Independent data analysis (excellent experience with FlowJo and Graph Pad Prism) and data interpretation, contribution to preparation of scientific presentations and writing of scientific reports
·  Strong communication and presentation skills
·  Ability to work effectively and independently within a diverse group of people
·  Excellent organizational skills, ability to take initiative and work according to time-lines

This position is fixed-termed for one year.
