·  Job facts

Job Purpose

·  A strategic leadership and coaching role within the Medical Chapter.
·  Provide effective coaching to the Medical Managers and Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) on strategies, processes, practices in their therapeutic area as well as in their ecosystems to support better patient outcomes
·  Coach the Medical Managers and MSLs to adhere to the highest scientific and ethical standards and maintain medical compliance.
·  Provide consultation and coaching to the Medical Managers and the MSLs on career development and performance management.
·  Contribute to building up the capability of the Medical Managers and the MSLs, as well as essential processes in order to achieve Medical excellence in various Medical activities.
·  Deputise for Director of Medical and RAQA as necessary (the Medical affairs portion).
·  Required to collaborate with both internal and external cross-functional team members, as well as with external stakeholders.
·  All Roche employees are expected to practice high standards of compliance with both external and internal policies and regulations as well as participate and be involved in SHE initiatives within the Company.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

Leadership / Coaching (Making a difference together)

· 
Coach and cultivate a highly motivated and well-trained Medical team with an objective- and performance-led culture and ensure capability is in place to support high quality execution of operational plans.

· 
Provide coaching to build proactive and productive interactions between Medical and other local/global functions.

Support the Medical Chapter Lead to build capability in Medical strategies and tactics (Medical Planning)

· 
Medical strategy development through his / her own medical expertise and that of the Medical Manager teams.

· 
Medical Plans optimally integrate Life Cycle Team and Affiliate objectives through an appropriate mix of pRED, gRED, PD, PDMA and Affiliate clinical trials and investigator selection (decision made in line with PDMA's Integrated Evidence Planning principles).

· 
Strategic partnerships with TAEs, patient groups and scientific institutions and societies to enable optimal Medical support for products throughout their life cycles.

· 
Functional excellence in MSL field works, including but not limited to effective communication of scientific data of products, read-out of clinical trials, collections of Medical insights, TAE mapping and Continuous Medical Education (CMEs).

SOP Development by Medical Function

· 
Support directly or provide coaching to Medical Chapter members to ensure SOP is updated as per required on a timely manner.

Others

· 
Any other duties that may be assigned from time to time as required by the business.

Job Requirement:

Expertise

· 
A registered healthcare professional with minimum 3 years of experience of coaching high performing medical teams or equivalent experience in medical context.

· 
Strategic mindset and demonstration of achieving results with excellence in execution in a highly dynamic environment on the local and/or global/PI/Area level.

· 
Public speaking and presenting to large audiences.

· 
Extensive experience in the medical function of the biotechnology / pharmaceutical industry

·  Experience in product launches
·  Pharmacovigilance
· 
Clinical research and GCP certification

· 
Medical affairs

· 
TAE collaboration

· 
Substantial experience of practicing in the local environment

· 
Clinical/pharmacy practice of at least 3 years

· 
Understands how the different healthcare sectors operate

· 
Awareness of Ministry of Health structure

· 
Maintains a strong professional network with TAEs to establish medical strategy

· 
An understanding of medical and strategic aspects of Phase IV supported,non-interventional studies, and Real World Data.

· 
Comprehensive knowledge of ICH GCP.

· 
An awareness of the NPCB process for licensing a medicine.

· 
A clear awareness of the DCA process for the approval of a medicine or a diagnostic.

· 
A clear awareness of the various listing and reimbursement processes.

· 
Adverse Event Reporting and drug safety practices

· 
Comprehensive awareness of PhAMA Code of Conduct, including laws and guidelines on promotional activity and Roche Directives and standards.

· 
Familiarity with the local medical environment and healthcare system.

· 
Familiarity with the assigned therapeutic areas.

· 
Sound knowledge of project management and processes.

Education / Qualifications:

· 
A registered healthcare professional

· 
Science degree

· 
Business or clinical qualification eg MBA or nursing desirable
