Health Economist (3 open positions)

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Health Economist to work as part of the Health Economics, Health Outcomes, Pricing and Writing team.

The team works together with the affiliate and the NHS to deliver transformative access for innovative solutions and to support creation of a sustainable healthcare system.

The Health Economist has a key role in gaining reimbursement for Roche's innovative medicines. Working with the Medical Partner and HTA Writer, the Health Economist leads the creation of the access strategy; and develops, runs and delivers the reimbursement submission process to the relevant HTA authorities, with the aim of achieving a positive recommendation. The Health Economist is also tasked with supporting our pipeline portfolio, ensuring clinical trials and evidence requirements are fit for purpose for the UK environment.

Technically strong, strategic, and an outstanding communicator, you will have extensive experience of UK HTA appraisals, and stakeholder management.

The (Senior) Health Economist will be required to:

· 
Lead the development of HTA strategy for prioritised therapeutic areas and products

· 
Develop, run and deliver high quality submissions to national and local health technology assessment organisations, such as NICE, SMC and AWMSG to achieve positive recommendations

· 
Work in collaboration with Global to ensure clinical and health economic evidence generation plans are fit for purpose and UK payer evidence requirements are met

· 
Engage with and establish relationships with key clinicians, local and national payers, and HTA officials to support all allocated brands

· 
Provide subject matter expertise and strategic input to cross-portfolio and cross-chapter initiatives, with a balance between solutions, constructive challenge, & support of agreed objectives

· 
Utilise skills and capabilities, and work flexibly as part of empowered, self-managed, multi-skilled teams, to ensure work is delivered in line with Organisational principles

· 
Working collaboratively and sharing expertise across the Organisation to remove silos and duplication, ensure efficient use of similar skill-sets, and to ultimately support common pursuit of the North Star

· 
Acting as a guardian for high standards of compliance, ethics and safety; putting patients at the centre of all actions by consistent business behaviour that complies with applicable laws, industry codes and Roche's Code of Conduct.

· 
Involvement in Squads and Squad work (Affiliate or others) and Global activities, as required

· 
Aligning their personal purpose to the Organisational North Star to enable them to flourish and shine in their role

· 
Owning their development to ensure they are continually growing skills and capabilities within their Chapter (and where appropriate, in other Chapters) in line with their passion and the needs of the Organisation (present and future)

· 
Increasingly demonstrating the VACC (Visionary, Architect, Catalyst, Coach) roles, as they develop their personal skills and capabilities, to positively support colleagues

Required experience

· 
First degree in economics, statistics, life sciences or related field

· 
Post-graduate qualification in health economics or related field

· 
Ability to craft sound national reimbursement strategies, bringing in the right cross-functional partners for input at the right time

· 
Detailed understanding of the role of HEOR within the NHS and pharmaceutical industry, including a deep understanding of the methods, processes and timelines of UK HTA

· 
Excellent knowledge, understanding and application of economic evaluation concepts in HTA submissions

· 
High quality demonstrable technical writing and communication skills

Individuals should be operating in one or more of the following categories:

· 
The right attitude to learn and develop the skills required to write and deliver excellence in HTA submissions. Technically sound, with experience of delivering some elements of an HTA submission (i.e. SLR, NMA, or model)

· 
Competent to construct and deliver HTA submissions in line with the brand and organisational strategy. Working cross functionally to deliver a robust, best in class submissions. Able to work independently and support/ mentor others in the chapter to some extent. Has experience of delivering a complete HTA submission (from start to finish)

· 
Highly experienced Health Economist, with extensive HTA submission experience. Mentors and coaches others on a regular basis. Initiate and develop strategies and projects that add value to the organisation.

Our UK Pharmaceutical head office is situated in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire, with beautiful countryside surrounding the area. Supported by major motorways & airports as well as being a 30 minute train ride to London, access is easy.
