To be the most admired employer in our industry, the Volvo Group invests in a lot of new tools and applications, e.g. to support collaboration or improve the employee experience. This is an IT Buyer role, where you are responsible for portfolios of applications used all over the Volvo Group.

Your job is to navigate in this market environment; to be responsible for managing your portfolio and to lead the supplier negotiations in team with the business representatives. You will ensure to maintain strong relationships with our suppliers and with our internal stakeholders, often high level managers of business functions around the Volvo Group.

Of course, you will also need to keep your supplier data up to date, handle the day to day order approval-flow, and take care of the many issues, large and small that end up on your desk every day.

You will be part of a great team of 14 buyers, located in Göteborg and Lyon, who are very supportive and will help you find your place. You can be sure to feel very welcome!

Who are you?
To be successful in this position you need to be driven, reliable, well organized and have excellent communication and networking skills.

You need to be passionate about achieving business results in negotiation and problem solving together with others. You will also need to have a natural drive to organize and continuously improve the structure of your portfolio long term, as our aim is high.

You should be willing to handle complex agreements and high pressure situations, but depending on your level of experience we can adjust the scope of your portfolio to ensure your long term development. This means you can expect a steep learning curve. You really need to be someone who is up for a challenge!

Most of all however: you have to be a true team player and contribute with good spirit!

Desired Education/Experience:
Master of Science, Engineering or Supply Chain
Excellent spoken and written English.
French is an advantage.
High integrity and personal drive
Strong discipline and follow up, a finisher

If you don’t check all the boxes but are a quick learner, we can talk! At Volvo Group we believe in hire for attitude and train for skills.

If you are eager to learn, love doing business and have the drive to take on new challenges, you will love it here.
