Job description

Accounting Services

Our Accounting Services team (part of our Compliance Services team) is a market focused business providing outsourced accounting services to national and multinational corporations with a focus on helping them remain compliant and providing insights into their operations. Accounting Services has a varied and prestigious client base and works with various specialists in their own field which, combined with the importance placed on continuous technical training and personal development, provides an excellent opportunity for career development. As part of PwC, one of the largest global accounting firms, Accounting Services offers a challenging and exciting career path. Working within the Compliance Services team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on high profile client assignments alongside staff across the wider Tax practice.

Programme

A position on our School and College Leaver programme is one of the best ways to kickstart your career with PwC. All of our School and College Leaver programmes are designed to help you develop your business skills through real client work, while also completing formal training and studying towards qualifications to give you a head start in your career. PwC will provide you with support all the way. You’ll earn a competitive salary, benefit from our excellent support networks and have the opportunity to continually progress your career. Just like our graduate joiners, you’ll work on varied and challenging client and internal projects, which make a real difference to the world of business. You’ll be coached by our people, who are experts in their field, and at the same time, thanks to our study support, you won’t need to worry about paying for course and exam fees, textbooks or revision materials.

What you’ll do

Our training programme is underpinned by a development framework that broadens and deepens your knowledge. You'll learn from hands-on coaching and an outstanding variety of work, picking up business, personal and technical skills you can use across the network, and throughout your career.

Your responsibilities will include a range of tasks, however generally this will involve:

·  The preparation of local and cross border client GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) statutory financial statements (SFS).
·  Bookkeeping and preparation of periodic management accounts.
·  Advising on statutory accounting compliance requirements.
·  Advising on improvements to the SFS cycle i.e. the production, audit and filing of SFS.
·  Attending group technical training meetings.
·  Contributing to major proposals to help manage and grow the Accounting Services accounting compliance portfolio worldwide.
·  Participating in ad hoc projects.
·  This gives you the opportunity to learn from different clients and develop your transferable skills

What you’ll gain

We’ll support you as you study for a Certificate in Finance, Accounting and Business (CFAB). This is a nationally recognised professional qualification with Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW).

What you’ll need

Minimum requirements are 96 UCAS* for the ATT pathway or 112 UCAS * for the CFAB pathway from up to three full A-Levels (or equivalent), and a Grade C or 4 or above in GCSE (or equivalent) English Language and Mathematics. Exams must have been taken in the same sitting and resits are accepted only where modules or papers have been retaken in the same academic year. If you have any extenuating circumstances related to your exam marks or the sequencing of your exams, please declare this on your application and this will be considered as we review your application. *The UCAS tariff varies depending on the team and the professional qualification.

When to apply

Although there is no application deadline, each year we have only a small number of Graduate roles available. We therefore advise applying early, but please be prepared for a short wait in processing your application at each stage of our process while we consider your application alongside others.
