Job description

Digital Audit

We're a specialist team within our Audit practice that combines a mix of technology, data, business and accounting expertise to how we audit clients across all industries. We’re constantly investing in audit technology and the skills of our people to keep up with the rapid pace of change and to deliver trust that is deeper, broader and more forward-looking.

There are two sides to Digital Audit:

Auditing Digital: Auditing our client’s technology to give them assurance that security and controls are in place. This includes infrastructure, Cloud, and applications. You’ll gain an understanding of end-to-end processes and how business applications are utilised, controlled and optimised.

Digital Auditing: Using our latest tools to help digitise the way we deliver audits through automation, artificial intelligence data analytics and innovation - as well as using PwC developed tools and industry leading software to audit our clients.

Digital Audit will give you a unique opportunity to experience all aspects of the audit from finance to technology. You'll develop a strong understanding of the role that digital plays in the modern day audit and how new technologies are deployed and controlled within business. As a Digital Audit graduate, you'll provide the link between finance and IT. You'll spend a proportion of your year working as part of the Audit financial team and the remainder within Digital Audit. In practice, you'll understand and test IT systems and controls, deliver technology enabled audit including the latest on advanced analytics, process control and automation and the use of innovative tools.

Our culture drives success, both ours and yours. It gives us a sustainable advantage. We want to create an environment where our employees feel empowered to work in a way that works for our clients, teams, and you personally. It’s not only about working hard, but working smarter and being agile to deliver exceptional client service whilst balancing work and life.

Programme

Our graduate training programme is underpinned by a development framework that broadens and deepens your knowledge. You'll learn from hands-on coaching and an outstanding variety of work, picking up business, personal and technical skills you can use across the network, and throughout your career.

What you’ll do

On our Digital Audit programme, you'll spend time working on the financial side of the Audit and within Digital Audit, focussing on the IT systems and controls. You’ll have the opportunity to work with a variety of clients, industries and technologies. You'll be hands-on straight away, working at client sites or virtually from one of our PwC offices. You’ll have exposure to contacts such as financial controllers, heads of IT or finance directors to understand and test IT systems and controls. You’ll be checking IT systems to ensure they are appropriately controlled by management and to check that data produced is accurate, highlighting and questioning any differences. It's investigative work where you’ll regularly speak with clients, using in-person meetings or leading-edge collaborative technology. You’ll be part of a variety of teams, taking real responsibility for the work you do.

Above all, your work is client focused, which can mean travelling to client sites and will involve working to deadlines. This often requires working longer hours to meet the needs of the client. It’s hard work but rewarding. You'll also be studying towards your chartered accountancy qualification, in addition to benefiting from a training programme created by our learning and development specialists. You do not need to be a technology expert as we will give you all the technology training required for your role. What you get out of it is the opportunity to build the skills and experience that can open many doors to you, taking your career in whatever direction you choose.

Work with our prestigious client list and you’ll develop the business skills, knowledge and relationships you need to do well in a career that’s about so much more than numbers. You’ll go beyond the obvious and develop real insights into a client’s markets, technology, people and management, as well as its finances.

What you'll gain

In addition to on the job experience around process, risk, IT and controls, you will also study towards the Chartered Accountant (ACA or CA) qualification. Depending on your location this will either be with the ICAEW or ICAS.

What you'll need

You'll need to have or be on course for a 2.1 degree or above in any subject. We determine whether you're on course for a 2.1 based on the grades you achieved in your last completed year of academic study.

Do you need a work permit?

Please note that PwC is unable to sponsor any candidates for the following graduate roles as the Home Office's eligibility criteria will not be satisfied. For more information visit our website .

When to apply

Although there is no application deadline, each year we have only a small number of Graduate roles available. We therefore advise applying early, but please be prepared for a short wait in processing your application at each stage of our process while we consider your application alongside others.
