The Opportunity:

Scientific Communications is a unique type of role that allows an individual to combine scientific and technical expertise with strategic and creative thinking, communication skills and commercial understanding. It also requires the ability to collaborate effectively inside and outside the company. We are looking for an individual that can transform deep science into compelling and appealing messages that everyone can understand. You will work in close partnership with R&D, Brand Management, Global Product Safety and external scientific experts to develop and execute scientific credentialing/advocacy strategies and create compelling scientific product stories/content for P&G brands, for Family Care. This role is located in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Job Description
As a Scientific Communications Senior Manager, you will be developing the scientific strategy and content to support the success of Bounty, Charmin, and Puffs. This can include:

·  Leading the creation of integrated Scientific Communications strategies and plans that generate earned awareness and advocacy with customers and other external bodies like universities, key opinion leaders and influencers.
·  Developing Scientific Communications strategies and plans to generate earned awareness and advocacy.
·  Leading the development of scientific stories, publications, demos and message tracks, leading key science stakeholder relationships, and serving as a spokesperson with media and customers.
·  Working with agencies to inspire and lead the development of compelling Scientific Communication materials.
·  Leading external stakeholder relationships to counsel our programs internally and help us accelerate our external thought leadership.
·  Developing crisis prevention plans, covering escalation models and mitigation plans.
·  Supporting the upstream innovation: Creation of excellent technical product stories with scientific insights, superior claims and visualization of benefits and science.
·  Continuing to grow skills day-in, day-out, by connecting with internal and external scientific and key opinion leaders.

Lead Family Care's Forestry Efforts:

·  Forestry Scientific Communications strategy and plan focused on our sourcing policies, plans, and Ambition 2030 goals.
·  Help strengthen forestry certification standards.
·  Be a key leader in projects to promote healthy forests and certification.
·  Own FSC Trademark Use & Management System and Rainforest Alliance seal use.
·  Lead P&G’s input and gather information required for our forestry reporting efforts.
·  Provide expert guidance on alternative/non-wood fibers
·  Provide training and expertise on forestry within P&G.

Lead Family Care’s sustainability & product stewardship credentialing:

·  Lead LCA efforts and input to action plans for positive impacts.

Share our Brand science and technology story externally:

·  Partner with Brands and R&D to develop engaging ways to communicate our product initiatives and current technology
Qualifications

Required:

·  Bachelor’s degree. Highly preferred is degree in Forestry. Would also accept Environmental Science, Paper Science, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biology.
·  Forestry experience whether as a forester or working in the industries of paper or toilet tissue.
·  2-3 years of experience in a scientific communications role (corporate company, university, etc).
·  A high level of proficiency in the English language is essential and the candidate must have global skills to be able to communicate across cultures.

Preferred:

·  Masters or PhD post gradual doctoral degree in science or communications disciplines.
·  Experience working with consumer brands in a professional capacity (branding, marketing, scientific, etc).
