Job description

Description

The Procter &Gamble Company is seeking a Modelingand Simulation Engineer to be responsible for the development andadvanced application of custom continuum scale mathematical models required todesign and optimize consumer products and the processes that manufactureconsumer products. Utilize engineeringscience to derive self-consistent multi-scale equations for a given model. Apply advanced numericalanddiscretizationschemes to solve systems of partial & ordinarydifferential equations (PDE & ODE), and algebraic equations.Responsible for advanced application and development of process systemsmodeling software (e.g. gPROMS,Modelica, etc.) or the advanced application of multi-physics based software(e.g. COMSOL Multiphysics, ANSYS Fluent, etc.). Responsible for the verification and validation of models usingconservation principles, limiting case solutions, and statistical methods (e.g.cross validation, optimal design of experiments, global sensitivity analysis).Use applied mathematical optimization techniques (e.g., non-linear programming)to define the best solution for a given problems. Perform uncertaintyquantification using global sensitivity analysis and Monte Carlo methods tointegrate uncertainty into business decisions. Lead the training anddevelopment of P&G scientists and engineers on modeling methods andmodeling software. Define the new modeling methods and capabilities needed topredict the physics and chemistry associated with P&G products andprocesses. Actively work with the academic and commercial communities toinfluence the direction of mathematical modeling methods and software.
