P&G is seeking a hardworking and experienced Intellectual Property attorney to join its Legal organization at its Gillette Headquarters in Boston. The selected attorney will be a strategic partner to the business in the creation and protection of global intellectual property assets for the Gillette brands. Key aspects of the role include IP strategy development, preparation and prosecution of global patent applications, creation and negotiation of IP-related agreements (e.g., non-disclosure agreements and joint development agreements), freedom-to-practice assessments, enforcement and due diligence. The role may additionally include advertising and brand equity protection aspects. P&G attorneys work directly with clients to solve problems creatively and determine how best to manage the client’s legal needs across critically important, as well as challenging and rapidly evolving, legal spaces. The position requires strong cross-team collaboration and coordination with business clients, multi-functional partners, and legal colleagues. While the position currently being filled is located in Boston joining our current team of three attorneys, there could be opportunity for a future rotation in the Legal Division at P&G’s corporate headquarters in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Qualifications

Requirements (skills / experiences) for the role:

A successful candidate must have: § Three to ten years of experience with a law firm, in-house, government or other legal department. § A J.D. with outstanding academic performance, with moot court, law review or judicial clerkships preferred § Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and very strong problem-solving skills. § Track record of success in professional and personal activities. § Proven leadership as well as the ability to work as a member of a team, both with business clients and within the Legal organization. § Membership in at least one state bar, with the ability to become a member of the Ohio bar.
