Would You Like to Play a Key Role in an Environmental Health & Safety Team for the World’s 2nd Largest Food and Beverages Company? We are now on the lookout for an EHS Intern to join our team for a 2020 Internship, in our Carrigaline site.

We are the concentrate team in PepsiCo (PGCS) working across the Beverage, Nutrition and Snacks categories to deliver concentrate for many of PepsiCo’s mega brands including Gatorade, 7Up and Pepsi. We are at the heart of PepsiCo products, sourcing ingredients to manufacture more than 1,200 recipes for our brands. We are a global organisation, situated in 17 locations across 11 countries offering careers in various functions from Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Procurement, Quality, Finance, R&D, HR and IT. Our placements offer students the opportunity to experience the fast-moving environment of our EHS team.

Key Responsibilities will include some of the following:

Complete review of waste water streams;

·  Data mining to identify key waste water streams (categorise into most significant impact to WWTP

·  Pull any previous data /experience from associates on site

·  Identify test requirements (BOD/COD) and sample criteria/sample plan

·  Collect and send off samples

·  Collate results and review to identify key information to aid in WWTP trouble shooting and identification of non-biodegradable materials not suitable for WWTP processing.

Above may change with requirements between now and student hire

Review data for FM global products;

·  Data mining to identify key raw materials products impacted for FM global flammable criteria (plastic drums, flammable)

·  Develop sampling plan

·  Collect and send off samples to FM

Review data and pull together summary report including fire point, flash point, etc

Qualifications/Requirements

Essential Criteria:

· 
Applicants must be part of a university work placement programme for a minimum duration of 6 months, following a path to a degree level qualification in Chemistry, Process/Chemical Engineering or equivalent

· 
High degree of initiative and drive to deliver results with the ability to be pro-active and multi-task

· 
Sharp problem -solving skills

· 
Excellent interpersonal skills (both written and verbal)

· 
Ability to communicate across a diverse audience

· 
Strong Excel skills

· 
Passion for engineering/science coupled with innate interest in current technologies

· 
Supportive team player with an accurate, methodical and reliable approach
