Job description
about the role
- Managing Monitoring Productions/changes on different monitoring solutions validated by Monitoring Engineering
- Providing 24*7 technical support for monitoring infrastructure servers used for monitoring (on-call is required during non business hours)
- Managing accounts for all monitoring tools (creation, deletion and modification)
- Supporting the BEM “BMC Event Manager”
- Managing All tools used for monitoring
- Deploy Patches and new releases on Monitoring servers with different OSs
- Managing the BCO tool “BMC Capacity optimization”
- Tracking/Solving all monitoring incidents raised by servers’ owners
- Testing new packages provided by Monitoring solutions for validation before their deployment
- Reporting server usage (for license purposes)
- Contributing in the appliance of a better event management process
about you
- Very good understanding of monitoring tools (Ex. BEM, PCO, Citrix, HPOV,SNMP, SCOM, GSX, Minotaure, Witbe & BCO)
- Expert on Unix Solaris system administration (Certificate is a plus)
- Very good understanding of IT & networking fundamentals (CCNA is a plus)
- Very good understanding of Linux and windows operating systems
- Very good understanding of SNMP protocol and MIBs hierarchy
- Good Understanding in Scripting (Perl, Bash)
- Very Good understanding of Oracle DB Fundamentals
- Very Good understanding of VMware Technologies
- Good Knowledge of SCOM
- Good Presentation skills
- Good understanding of ITIL processes (ITIL Foundation)
- Very good communication, facilitation and customer facing skills
- MSCE is a plus
additional information
Educational background:
- Computer, Communications or Electronics B.Sc. or B.Eng. Degree
- Soft Skill/Business Courses (Time management, facilitation skills, interpersonal skills, communication skills ...) is a plus
Professional Experience:
- At least 4 years of IT professional experience
Languages:
- English (fluent Written and Spoken)
- French is a plus
