DevOps Engineer responsibilities include deploying product updates, identifying production issues and implementing integration that meet the customer needs. A solid background in software engineering and being familiar with DevOps tools are needed.

Ultimately, executing and automating the operational processes fast, accurately and securely is the main goal.

Main Responsibilities:

·  Implement integrations requested by customers
·  Deploy updates and fixes
·  Perform systems service changes
·  Implement systems new releases
·  Provide Level 2 technical support
·  Build tools to reduce occurrences of errors and improve customer experience
·  Develop software to integrate with internal back-end systems
·  Perform root cause analysis for production errors
·  Investigate and resolve technical issues
·  Develop scripts to automate alarms fix
·  Design procedures for system troubleshooting and maintenance
·  Conduct systems tests for security, performance, and availability
·  Develop and maintain design and troubleshooting documentation
·  Implement automation tools and frameworks (CI/CD pipelines)

 

about you

Educational Background:

·  Computer, Communication or Electronics MIS, B.Sc. or B.Eng. Degree
·  Soft Skill / Business Courses & Certification (time management, negotiation/communication skills...) are recommended

Professional Experience:

·  At least 2-3 years of professional experience as a DevOps Engineer or similar software engineering role

Technical Experience:

·  Platforms: Linux, Unix and Windows.
·  Languages: Python
·  Configuration management: Ansible, AWX,Terraform
·  Scripting: Bash, PowerShell
·  CI/CD tools: Jenkins, Gitlab
·  Containerization: Docker and Kubernetes
·  Web servers: Nginx and Apache
·  Application servers: PHP-FPM,Apache Tomcat
·  DB: MySQL, MongoDB and Redis
·  Web applications: Drupal, WordPress, Magento, Laravel, php Symfony
·  Source Code Control Systems: GitLab
·  Virtualization/Cloud: VMware , Openstack
·  Network/Infrastructure: TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN
·  Storage: LVM, RAID, NFS, Ceph
·  Security: Ansible Vaults/other, IPtables, FirewallD, UFW, SELinux, Fail2ban
·  Monitoring: Nagios, Opsview, New Relic, Zabbix
·  Logging systems: ELK/EFK Stack
·  Data visualization tools: Grafana, Kibana, Wavefront

Other Skills:

·  Very good understanding of project management and time management
·  Very good technical reports writing skills
·  Fluent English (speaking and writing)
·  Fluent French is a plus
·  Team player
