Supervisor - E commerce

Department: CA Distribution

Location: Whittier, CA

Reports to the Operations Manager – E commerce. The Supervisor is responsible for managing the receipt, processing, and accurate put-away of all facets of receiving  product; to include transfers, customer returns and vendor shipments. Successful execution of this role is critical to ensuring timely credit to customers who have returned items, as well as accurate inventory levels within the fulfillment center. For these reasons, the Receiving Supervisor will be expected to collaborate on a regular basis both customer service contacts and the inventory control team, to include both associates and leadership.

Major Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:                                                                    

·  Lead and develop a large team of warehouse associates; to include training qualified associates to successfully perform all aspects of the returns, receiving, and inventory movement processes.
·  Ensure all receiving and returns processes are performed in accordance with the SOP
·  Monitor workloads and manage operations to ensure service level agreements are consistently met
·  Build partnerships with corporate logistics team to resolve discrepancies with receipts, such as shortages/overages and ASN issues, in a timely fashion
·  Build partnerships with the e-commerce customer service team to resolve customer inquiries pertaining to merchandise returns in a timely fashion
·  Provide support to inventory control to resolve inventory discrepancies, reconcile vendor errors, investigate mis-shipments to customers, and perform product inventories (cycle counts) as needed
·  Maintain a safe working environment; including safeguarding company equipment and ensuring it is operated in accordance with company policies 
·  Develop and utilize spreadsheet applications to forecast workloads and required resources
·  Participate in daily meetings to keep operations team members informed of resource needs and overages, priorities, and any details that are informative and add value cross-functionally
·  Maintain files necessary for receiving tracking purposes; including customer returns.
·  Maintain an active floor presence providing an open and engaging work environment for associates
·  Cross train receiving  associates in all functions of receiving, as well as other departments within the e-commerce operation, to ensure associates are well versed and transferrable
·  Assist in the selection and training of qualified associates. Partnering with the General Manager of Operations, Operations Manager and Human Resources Department regarding reviews, interviewing, hiring, terminations, and corrective counseling within the DC
·  Any other duties or projects as assigned

Essential Skills:

·  Hands on leader who leads by example and excels at coaching associates for desired results
·  Must be able to think outside of the box and apply common sense; understanding to carry out instructions, furnished in written, oral or diagram form
·  Strong quantitative and critical problem solving skills
·  Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to communicate with all levels of the organization
·  Functional understanding of day to day planning
·  Ability to prioritize and follow up on numerous daily emails in a timely and professional manner

Requirements:

·  Bachelor’s Degree in management, logistics, or operations preferred
·  2 years of Distribution Receiving and/or Inventory Management experience with WMS preferred; required in lieu of education
·  Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business manuals and instructions
·  Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and associates
·  Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
·  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of instructions and deal with abstract and concrete variables

·  Able to lift up to 50 pounds – Proper lifting techniques required

·  Occasional grasping, pushing, pulling, fine manipulation and repetitive hand movements
